Disclosure's Latch is nice, I like to hear it on the radio, but I wouldn't choose to listen to it.

Latch is so good, one of my favourite tracks of the year, it really grows on me on every listen.

Latch is such a brilliant song to listen to when you want to be happy and chilled. I can't wait to listen to it next summer.

were they made of shellac also, or was it a wax cylinder connected to a clockwork light bulb

I honestly don't get where all the love for 'Latch' came from - it's bizarre. To me, it could just as easily be any track for Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs' discography; yet while he struggles to even get a top 100, Disclosure come along and nab a #11 peak. Hopefully the breakthrough of this track is a hint that 2013 could be the year of slow-tempo electronic music being successful.

The Script really hit the nail on the head with 'Hall of Fame'. Wasn't sure of it to begin with, but I think as radio have played it more and more frequently, it's become a real hit of 2012. Even better is the second single, 'Six Degrees of Seperation', if only Danny wasn't part of The Voice, I'd have had my fingers crossed they could have an X-Factor performance slot and get the track to #1; where it deserves to be.

 

 

Alternatively if Danny wasn't on "The Voice", we probably would never have had a collaboration with Will.I.Am, and The Script may have disappeared without trace.

This is probably going to end up as like the 3rd lowest selling #1 of the year isn't it :( Shame as it's the 2nd best #1 of the year behind 'Paradise' for me.

Actually enjoying this more than "Spectrum" now, shame that "Drinking From The Bottle" is so dull.

I love Rudimental's song aswell. I hope it'll go top 10, but I'm almost certain it won't.

At least they (he/it?) won't go down as one hit wonder(s). ;)

I was listening to Sweet Nothing in the car the other day on high volume, and it sounded BRILLIANT! :wub: This is definitely up there with Calvin's best singles, if not the best.

Sweet Nothing is by far the best single from Calvin this era.

'Spectrum' still remains far far superior to this, hopefully that will be reflected in the long term sales.

I find Can You Hear Me? SO much better than Heatwave. I wish this got the level of support that that did.

Couldn't agree more! Can You Hear Me? and Heatwave should swap chart runs. If it wasn't for Ms D, Heatwave would have been the worst number one of the year for me, ahead of Turn Up the Music.
