What an AWFUL departure for Tanya :mellow: Thank god it's only temporary, otherwise I'd be flipping right now. Also, such a waste of screen time/storyline for Denise and Zainab to NOT get the job. Bianca was the only good thing about this episode.

I'm struggling to buy the fact that Masood and Zainab's relationship will end over all thus rubbish given what they've overcome in the past.

Apparently all it takes is a wide-eyed Bambi-esque young girl to make Masood reconsider his entire family life and marriage. That's despite the psychopathic ex-husband, the gay Muslim son, etc. etc. I'm finding it a bit far-fetched myself.

This is so painful to watch. Not sure if i'm genuinely feeling sore for Zainab, or that i just don't buy it.

Very strong episode tonight. Emotional stuff although it doesn't make up for the last few weeks and this feeble exit storyline that was more about Masood than Zainab. She will be missed.

Yes :cry: I didn't expect to be so moved, but by the end it really got too much. Hopefully she can return one day.

Very sad to see Zainab go. It was well acted, but I still find the whole story totally unrealistic. What a great character gone. I'm not sure I want her back though-what would she do if not with Masood? And a reunion would only cheapen this ending even more. Can't see the Masoods lasting much longer.

I wasn't moved by it, I just thought it was incredibly shite! :lol:

It would be nice to have a new Asian family now, possibly Sikh? I think we've had Hindus and Muslims so it would be nice to represent another part of society.

 

I also didn't find the storyline for Zainab's exit realistic since they've been through much worse and stuck together; but still it was very emotional and it's a shame we weren't treated to a rare two-hander episode.

It was emotional but it was far too quick, they should have focused on the breakdown more in the last couple of weeks and Zainab just leaving so quick was not realistic in any way at all and was not true to her character. That said i am glad she has gone as she just wrecked my head with her nagging and nagging.

I do miss Zaniab, it feels like the Masoods are slowly disappearing.

 

On tonight's show, it was rather dull and seeing Lauren on the drink again for the 1000th time

I agree Martin, as much as I like Lauren, I'm completely BORED of "Lauren the alcoholic".

Lauren the alcoholic shows no progression. Nor does her relationship with Joey. How did they manage to f**k her up as a character?

Zainab's exit was rather emotional, but I fear that given she's departed, all of the family will just break apart and finally leave.

I think Waterloo Road will cling onto Laurie Brett for as long as possible. She's the best actress they've had on the show in a long time, certainly.
