Wouldn't Lauren vastly improve following that news?
Actually watched this tonight, so hopefully this is the start of me regularly watching it now (and I want to watch in the lead-up to

Michael

's exit). Was a good episode, but Ian and Sharon are just SO annoying. :( Felt quite sorry for Whitney (even if she is sometimes fairly irritating). Obviously Peter was fabulous... without even having to speak. :kink:

I literally can't remember one exciting thing that's happened since Heather's murder. :/ Only watching this through habit now. NEEDS to step up its game.

Same. It's all gone a bit dipshit since Christmas last year. I've barely watched it this year.

Oh well, at least ... going wouldn't be a sad loss to the show.

I haven't watched since the week after Zainab left. Anything happened since then?

There's been a big build up to

Michael's death

on Halloween night/the day after. I would definitely start to watch it again from there. It seems it's going to be back to good old EE with that storyline + the new EP should have his story lines starting to come into effect soon (if not already)!

Wow that trailer! :D Can't wait for next week's episodes for the first time in AGES!
I have noticed a big improvement in Eastenders recently with the Michael/Alice/Janine storyline and from that trailer it seems it will continue to do so! Quite looking forward to next week's episodes! :o Hopefully the aftermath and any new storylines will keep up the standard it is currently.

Charlie Brooks announced this morning that she's leaving Eastenders. Her final scenes will be early next year but she says she'll be willing to return

While it is a loss to the show i dont think its a major blow, there is a huge part of me that feels the character has run her course. The problem with the show in one sense is there is no huge characters in it anymore. The show always had front runners that you would dread to even think they may leave, at the moment there is no one like that. They need to invest more into characters so the audience becomes attached in them and believes in them.
Tonight and tomorrow's episodes should be amazing! I can't wait! :cheer:
Usually EastEnders execute these type of storylines very well for the climax so hopefully they can keep that tradition going tonight.
I haven't watched last night's episode yet so I'll have to try and do that before tonight's!
