January 16, 201313 yr Did Radio 1 playlist any of Hurts' singles from their debut album? I have a gut instinct Hurts will be snubbed in the UK (again) but will continue to be successful all over Europe (again). 'Better Than Love' and 'Wonderful Life' both were.
January 16, 201313 yr 'Better Than Love' and 'Wonderful Life' both were. Yeah I remember them both being playlisted, and then Stay was criminally ignored!
January 16, 201313 yr Yeah I remember them both being playlisted, and then Stay was criminally ignored! Lets hope they don't ignore Miracle. It's brilliant!
January 16, 201313 yr I'm pretty sure they'll playlist it, it's got a very Coldplay sound and Radio 1 love Coldplay!!
January 16, 201313 yr The playlist is absolutely fantastic at the moment - so very diverse and packed full of support-deserving artists. Tyler James in particular stands out - the track is spectacular. Very Timberlake actually, here's hoping it can at least be a T100 hit. Thankfully we've bid well to Bruno Mars' "Locked Out of Heaven" - I find myself going through stages of loving it and then hating it; the latter purely because the supposed second single "Young Girls" is a FAR better track. Shame Peace's "Wraith" and Vato Gonzalez' "Not a Saint" have both been dropped relatively earlier into their actual releases; though I imagine they'll still continue playing them.
January 17, 201313 yr Amazing for 'Change Your Life' :D Really hope it can be another top 10 hit for the girls. Obviously awesome to see Justin straight to B-List too as well as seeing Alicia Keys added with 'Brand New Me'. BIG HIT PLEASE. It's starting to properly click with me  fun. are releasing 'Why Am I the One?'? Hmm.. I like it, but if 'Carry On' couldn't be a hit, then I can't see this doing much either - it's extrememly 80's/Queen-lite though. But it'll be fine, 'Just Give Me A Reason' with P!nk SHOULD give him an easy top 10 hit. Surprised to see Tyler James here! Did they playlist 'Single Tear' at all?

I'm not sure Just Give Me A Reason will be an easy Top 10 hit... Try only went Top 10 because of X Factor, I can't see this doing quite as well. And no Single Tear wasn't playlisted at all, which makes it all the more surprising they've playlisted Worry About You. I wonder if it's partly because of Kano that they're playing it?

Maybe because of Kano, but his previous single had Dot Rotten on it, who Radio 1 also like.

I wonder if it's partly because of Kano that they're playing it?I did think this by the time of posting, but then I remembered JGMAR seemed to be an instant highlight for just about everyone who had heard the album. 'Try' was most definitely a grower (well it was for me, it didn't properly click with me until the VMA performance!). JGMAR will also appeal to more people as it ain't as deep or "real" as 'Try' and it is extremely radio friendly (+ the fact it has the lead singer from the biggest, new band of last year on it ) so I think JGMAR has a lot more going for it than 'Try' did. I know it has the fact that it's the 2nd, post album single and the single has old decently after all, but further singles from other big albums have managed to get a nice position officially and still sell just as well.
January 17, 201313 yr Macklemore finally added :cheer: The INMWT list doesn't mean nothing but I'm sure it'll climb in the future - "Like A G6", "We No Speak Americano" are good examples of massive hits that started life in the INMWT list - I'm sure there are others that I've forgotten. Its strange the way they work it - some songs (especially in recent weeks) climb out of it but the majority sit there for 4 weeks and then get removed - then sometimes reappear if the acts get big (Jake Bugg)! January 17, 201313 yr Only things I particularly care about this week are Matrix & Futurebound finally reaching the A-List and the news that 'Next Year' is being released as a single, easily my favourite album track off 'Beacon' Hope it can be another top 100 hit for them after 'Sun' did better than 'Sleep Alone'. Indeed, strange that its only alisted now even though it was released on 30/12!! Edited January 17, 201313 yr by steve201
January 17, 201313 yr I'm amazed that they have playlisted Tyler as both his album and first single tanked. I think Just Give Me a Reason will do very well. Try initially started to do well because of the X Factor performance, but it has stuck around amazingly well since then.
January 18, 201313 yr 'Better Than Love' and 'Wonderful Life' both were. I think Better Than Love was C-Listed and Wonderful Life B-Listed. The subsequent singles were then all A Listed on Radio 2
January 19, 201313 yr Only just noticed Tom Odell on the A-list. Can't Pretend is SUCH an amazing song.
January 23, 201313 yr Im still confused as to why Matrix and Futurebound have been alisted in their 6th week on the list after being released on the 30/12 and only making an impact in the top 30 now....
