January 21, 201313 yr Author Midweek Charts: Les Miserables continues to dominate Source: MW by Paul Willams Les Miserables is set to continue to lead the UK artist albums chart this weekend as I Am Kloot head for a new peak. The Polydor-issued motion picture cast recording is presently outselling its three nearest rivals combined, according to the Official Charts Company, mounting a 181% sales lead over closest challenger Our Version Of Events by Virgin's Emeli Sande. At present the top four sellers are in exactly the same order as they were last Sunday with Les Miserables at 1, Sande at 2, Jake Bugg's self-titled Mercury album at 3 and Columbia act Calvin Harris's 18 Months at 4. Just below them I Am Kloot are on course for a new career chart peak with the album Let It All In on their Shepherd Moon label presently registering as a new entry at 5. Their current highest position on the countdown is 24, achieved by last album Sky At Night in 2010. Joining I Am Kloot in the Top 10 at present is Adam Ant whose last studio album Wonderful reached 24 in 1995. His new set Adam Ant Is The Blueblack Hussar In Marrying The Guner's Daughter, released on the Blueblack Hussar label, is new at 9 at this stage of the week. Def Jam/Mercury's Rihanna holds at 6 with Unapologetic and Bruno Mars' Atlantic album Unorthodox Jukebox climbs 10-7, while Asylum/Atlantic's Ed Sheeran falls 8-9 with + and Syco's One Direction gain a place to 10 with Take Me Home. More spectacularly, his single Animal featuring Wiley is up 34-4 with sales quadrupling. It is poised to become his fourth UK Top 10 single. Dutch dance duo Bingo Players are heading for No 1 on the singles chart this Sunday with the Ministry of Sound release Get Up (Rattle) around 14,500 sales in front. At 2 is the Interscope/Polydor-issued Scream & Shout by will.i.am featuring Britney Spears, having secured a second week at 1 last weekend, while Mercury's Taylor Swift gains a place to 3 with I Knew You Were Trouble. Rihanna's Def Jam/Mercury track Stay featuring Mikky Ekko holds at 5 as the Columbia pairing of Calvin Harris and Tinie Tempah with Drinking From The Bottle continue at 6. January 22, 201313 yr Author My 100,000 post :o anyhow Pretty sure it is this Almighty remix that is propelling Amelia Lily into the top 10 at the moment. http://spoti.fi/VhyjDq #Spotify26m Eddy Durnan Eddy Durnan @eddydurnan @poptartsuk she's top ten in the midweeks? there is a god
January 22, 201313 yr My 100,000 post :o anyhow The Almighty remix isn't even in the top 1500 on iTunes. He probably means the EP sales are boosting it. Most new releases with EPs do a lot better in the mid-weeks than you expect based on the iTunes feed.
January 22, 201313 yr My 100,000 post :o Griff thought it would be in the Sunday Chart Prediction thread! :P

Most new releases with EPs do a lot better in the mid-weeks than you expect based on the iTunes feed. I think it's an ironic way of saying 'this remix is amazing', rather than an actual theory on how it's making the top ten.
January 22, 201313 yr Some Twitter info - Far East Movement #1 WHOO RT“@cherrytreerec: Congrats to @fareastmovement who's collab with the Bingo Players "Get Up" is at #1 on the official UK midweek chart”Mallory Knox Top 5 in the album chart - Go and buy our debut album #SIGNALS at this link! Help us stay in the top 5 for the midweek chart!
January 22, 201313 yr Adam Ant #3! Guessing sales at the top end of the chart are not going to be great if Adam Ant and Mallory Knox are both Top 5 at the moment! Adam Ant album is number 3 in the midweek charts. We review the album here.
January 22, 201313 yr Adam Ant top 3 :o Looking forward to Jameela reading out the rather bizarre title on Sunday then :P
January 22, 201313 yr Really is a blast from the past music icons return year after all. Although it looks like the trend of albums charting highly then plummeting is set to continue this year - We saw loads of acts with a strong fanbase take advantage of the low sales by scoring Top 10 albums last year only to be out of the Top 100 several weeks later.

I'm sure Cliff Richard will release his zillionth album this year as well. Edited January 22, 201313 yr by Griff's Nan
