Am I alone that I have never heard of Frank Ocean. Apart from him coming out I know none of his songs!

OMG you definitely NEED to hear the following!!!

There Will Be Tears

Bad Religion

Thinkin Bout You

Pyramids

Pink Matter

Lost

Super Rich Kids

Novacane

We All Try

Strawberry Swings

Forrest Gump

Ok I properly stan his music haha!

I think it was absolute bollocks how he only managed to win one Grammy for his solo work. I mean fun. are okay and all but they didn't deserve to beat him in the Best New Artist and SOTY categories. -_-

Hello? 'American Wedding', 'Sweet Life' and 'Swim Good' are waiting to be heard! :kink:

Eurgh, now I have to go and play 'Nostalgia, Ultra' for the 100th time to remember how epic it is.

It's a pity that none of Frank's singles has done that well chart wise; Lost was in the top 40 (iTunes) for a tine after New Years, right?

"Pyramids" is so EPIC. Really summed up most of my late Summer/early Autumn 2012 and whenever I hear it it evokes strong memories of that time. The mark of a classic song.

 3. Harlem Shake - Baauer

Poor old 'Stay' seems to be incapable of getting any higher than #4  It's been #4 for several weeks without going higher on the BuzzJack Multichart as well. (That said it might be top 3 this week, it was #5 on the Wednesday mids and probably likely to overtake Gabrielle and Disclosure).

It just needs to stay at #4 (pun intended - clearly living up to it's name).

I'm presuming 'Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You Got)' is at about #762 by now. Was at #160 when I checked earlier, what a dreadful chart-run for her - I can only see her going down the Mini Viva route now. :(

Weird how quickly people seem to have got over Amelia Lily. After 'YBMJ' got to #2 I expected Amelia to end up having a fairly decent career but it's not even lasted 2 singles. Imagine where the next single will peak (it'd probably be #762 in its second week too).

Thank god that "Thrift Shop" is back at #1 - I don't dislike "I Could Be the One", but it's nowhere near Avicii's best. Hopefully it won't get there officially to prevent 2013 having (m)any "non-#1s". I'm pleased that Little Mix could go top 10 - again, it's not my favourite of theirs, but if this shows that the album has potential, hopefully a better song will be released as a fourth single, rather than moving straight on to the next album.

As sad as it sounds, I think it's because of the music. As great as I find their music, Xenomania just isn't flavour of the month anymore (Mini Viva spiralled down quickly, Amelia looks like going in the same direction, 'Something New' underperformed etc). The music probably isn't the music that her fans off 'The X Factor' wanted, so they're not buying it - even 'You Bring Me Joy' had pretty poor longevity.

We've already had a non-#1 this year :( Despite spending 2 weeks at #1, Bingo Players are already down to #12 on iTunes and I can't see it sticking around for very long. I don't mind if Avicii and Bingo Players are non-#1s, they are both in my top songs of the year so far so just to see dance songs like this go to #1 in the first place is amazing. Would much prefer Avicii getting a #1 than Thrift Shop spending another week, Thrift Shop is going to spend a ridiculously long time in the chart but Avicii's only chance is this week ;)

I don't like fanbase non-#1s e.g. McFly - but when songs like "Rattle", "Loca People", "Promises" etc. go to #1 it's amazing to see. Longevity is just a bonus, luckily we have seen a dance #1 have amazing longevity recently (Don't You Worry Child)

Avicii for #1

The whole of Channel Orange was my summer anthem of 2012. When I was travelling Amsterdam etc it was my soundtrack along with Azealia Banks' mixtape.

Let's be honest, all of his stuff is worth listening to. Even the demo '4 Tears'. :D 'American Wedding' isn't my favourite of his, but that's probably because 'Hotel California' doesn't really go with the sound of NU. It's a great rewrite of HC though. Love the line "what's mine is yours, American divorce".

I really hope he does create another album (or mixtape maybe) in the future. A novel is great and all but music is where he belongs.
