Oh YAY for Justin and Ellie displacing Emeli and Gabrielle, that's made the top 10 so much better. Ellie could get a post-album top 10 hit yet :D

Macklemore already back at #1 combined and his top version is on 0.9688 so will retake #1 any minute! Just a matter of whether the BRITs can push 1D *back* to #1 now and they'll probably be a fair bit behind by then. Could still be an open race. Baauer on 0.9469 combined also.

 36. Love Me (feat. Drake & Future) - Lil Wayne

Looking like becoming a 4th top 40 hit for Lil Wayne as lead artist then :o After its extremely poor start I never expected that, especially with the explicit version still AWOL (are they ever going to release it?)

 38. If You Could See Me Now - The Script

And this looks like it'll be a third top 40 hit off '#3', still climbing this long after the performance.

 67. Short Change Hero - The Heavy

This should finally go top 100 officially this week after being in the iTunes top 100 but missing out countless times before. Must have racked up some very decent sales.

Mariah's new song is supposed to have been released at midnight, but I can't find it.

Here it is:

Currently at #891 'Almost Home'.

Ooh! 'Some Nights' by Glee managed to get top 100 on iTunes?! Excellent.

I'm pleasantly surprised at Little Mix's longevity for 'Change Your Life'! I genuinely thought the week after it peaked it would be down to about #32 or something! Very pleased it's hung around (and not likely to peak at #11 :cheer:)

 01 Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Thrift Shop

 02 One Direction - One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks)

Looks like my prediction of it falling off #1 by tonight was correct! :D

1D may be for a good cause, but its such a sh!t version I'm glad its trailing off and it isn't even midweek yet.

It's an awful song and kills both tracks! Very happy it's falling. Hopefully it'll keep dropping
The relative sucesses of the 1975, Foals and FOB shows indie is making the beginnings of a comeback and we just need radio to reflect that now for them to dominate the chart again.

I'd hope you're right, but I wouldn't be too sure, after all people said the same thing two years ago when four 'indie' songs entered the top 40 on the same week....

Such a shame Gabrielle has lost her top 10 position due to an iTunes error yet again! But at least Ellie is the one that has benefited!
I just hope this "iTunes error" (although if you wanted it enough, you can still purchase it...) for Gabrielle is a permanent one this time.

I think it will back then in 2010 i think it was that was a sign of the changeover imo but radio stations like capital wont change over and mtv barely plays indie music so unless its a massive hit it will only get mtv rocks play even songs like gotye didnt get that much airing on the hits channel.

Lets hope the media wakes up...

It'll take a lot more for Capital to start playing rock songs. I'm assuming they've pretended "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark" doesn't exist despite it being a top 10 hit. It is however nice that Radio 1 continue to force the issue and playlist bands like Bring Me The Horizon since if the commercial stations do change their approach I can actually see them having hit singles.

I thought music channels only ever played the "Official UK top 20/40" charts repeated over, then followed by TV shows like Jersey Shore, Two & A Half Men, My Sweet 16 etc...? So to say Gotye wasn't getting much airtime considering the amount of time it spent in the charts, is a little bit silly.

:P

Combined Kworb Popularity Chart:

01 Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat Wanz - Thrift Shop 1.0551

02 One Direction - One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks) 0.9882

03 Baauer - Harlem Shake 0.9875

1D almost down to #3 combined! Next update they will probably and in a few time they could be down to #3 overall!

Is Robbie performing Candy tommorow. If so I hope it returns top 40. Quite gutted Different flopped as it has grown on me fully now. I guess a rushed release didn't help.
02. One Direction - One Way Or Another

Still yet to hear this yet. Maybe that's a good thing as they shouldnt cover Blondie.

I'd hope you're right, but I wouldn't be too sure, after all people said the same thing two years ago when four 'indie' songs entered the top 40 on the same week....

Although that was very much seen as a one-off. Now there's a greater push towards more guitar-based groups, especially from the major record labels, so I think this time it might actually stick.
