February 20, 201313 yr Hall of Fame still being on there is almost as bad as Feel The Love - six months old and now they're on their THIRD single :manson: Then again, this does look quite fresh compared to Heart's playlist: ... No words. Why anyone would listen to that playlist out of choice I don't know  All those songs are at least 6 months old :manson: Thank God my mom listens to radio 2, they may not play music of my taste but at least they have new music on their playlist.
February 20, 201313 yr I don't think Heart actually ever updates its playlist any more, it looks exactly the same as the last couple of times it was posted on BuzzJack.

February 20, 201313 yr I have noticed with BOTH stations Capital and Heart, you can hear the same songs twice in two hours! I heard "Impossible" FOUR TIMES in two hours on Capital once. PLEASE!! Why not play "Change Your Life", "Thrift Shop" or Ellie Goulding's new one? The version of Heart we have which is sadly the London one based on our Freeview box....you would think Rihanna and Olly Murs stopped releasing singles as it is always "Only Girl" and "Dance With Me Tonight" endlessly of theirs! Surely "Stay" and "Army of Two" are friendly enough for their listeners? I suggest Olly snubs the station if they ask him to do interviews. The domination of Global/Bauer has led to the stagnation of charts. What you need is perhaps a few jury picks in the singles chart to stop the chart being stagnant or instant release for new singles.
February 20, 201313 yr I think this whole playlist idea is *cough* I was about to say ratched... a little bit ludicrous. I do not listen to radio to hear the same song every 4 hours.
February 20, 201313 yr New additions are Bridgit Mendler, Harlem Shake, Mirrors and One Way Or Another. Nothing too surprising except Bridgit and glad they are backing Mirrors straight away.
February 21, 201313 yr [insert joke about the staleness of the Capital/Heart playlists] EXPUNGE these stations please
February 21, 201313 yr Yeah Heart stopped updating it's playlist almost a year ago. You can track what they play by either listening to it (should you wish to be bored to tears) or using the function on their website to see what they were playing x many hours ago.

Sooo true :-) However....Heart was playing "Suit and Tie" by Justin Timberlake! Surprised they are not playing the following: "Please Dont Say You Love Me" by Gabrielle Aplin "Daylight" by Maroon 5 "Ghosts" by Charlene Soraya (Magic love it!) "Explosions" by Ellie Goulding All Heart friendly :-)
February 21, 201313 yr Probably all too recent, Ellie will be on there soon enough and as for Gabrielle and Maroon 5, no doubt they're still too busy hammering The Power of Love and Payphone to notice!
February 21, 201313 yr Probably all too recent, Ellie will be on there soon enough and as for Gabrielle and Maroon 5, no doubt they're still too busy hammering The Power of Love and Payphone to notice! Got it in one there. Plus "Moves Like fecking Jagger".
February 21, 201313 yr But is that what Capital listeners (and advertisers) want? I think so, to an extent. However, I think it's more a case of Capital know that the songs they're playing won't drive listeners away. I'm sure listeners would be completely fine hearing White Noise or Adorn or Change Your Life or Ho Hey on the station, but Capital won't risk it, since they have songs they already KNOW will "work". Also, Capital often put songs on their playlist and never actually play them. They had My Life on the playlist, which got me excited at first, but I never actually heard the song on the station, and now it's already off the playlist... With Capital's target audience, they really had NO excuse to not play a 50 Cent/Eminem song, but the reason they won't play it is because they want to attract people outside their target audience to get higher rating. This is the same reason they won't play songs like Bassline Junkie and Niggas in Paris. Those songs appeal to Capital's target audience, but I'm aware the average person aged 40+ would turn off the station if they heard those songs, which is why I think Capital prefers to play stuff like Moves Like Jagger. Infact, there's practically no radio station I get that doesn't still play Moves Like Jagger multiple times every day. Give Me Everything, Starships, Domino and We Found Love are others that you hear way too much on the radio. On another note, the OP expresses shock at Capital playing a piano ballad, but they also played Empire State of Mind Part II, Your Song, Someone Like You and now Stay and When I Was Your Man. I never heard Jar of Hearts on there though, probably the biggest hit I can think of recently that they didn't play. And I'm almost certain Harlem Shake will get "My Life" treatment. It's on the playlist to make the station look cool, but they won't play it, only at night time. Or Capital might just make a 60 second long edit of Harlem Shake to play.
February 21, 201313 yr I switched on Capital and its............"Drinking From The Bottle" by Tinie Tempah. Hate this song. Now its that other staple "Hall of Fame". I did read somewhere that playlists are compiled by market research. Who are these people?!
February 21, 201313 yr Then again, this does look quite fresh compared to Heart's playlist: Alyssa Reid - Alone Again I might have to start listening to Heart a bit more. :kink:
February 21, 201313 yr I might have to start listening to Heart a bit more. :kink: That is the worst cover ever! She should have been jailed for that.

February 28, 201313 yr Great to see Baauer and Timberlake joining the list, however I'm sure Baauer won't get much airplay from the station in the daytime. Avicii, The Saturdays, Bingo Players are all playlisted but I haven't heard them once on Capital. Maybe it's because I don't listen in that often or maybe it's because they're playing "I Knew You Were Trouble", "Give Me Everything", "Hall Of Fame" and "Payphone" etc. all the time! :drama:
February 28, 201313 yr I've actually not heard What About Us on Capital either tbh! I've heard it a couple of times which is quite surprising, I only ever listen to it when I'm in the car.
