Posted February 20, 201313 yr I thought it would be interesting to bring back the Capital FM playlist thread as well which started in Summer last year but randomly stopped. Anyway, the good news is Domino is no longer on the playlist! :w00t: Alicia Keys feat Nicki Minaj - Girl On Fire Avicii & Nicky Romero - I Could Be The One Bingo Players feat Far East Movement - Get Up (Rattle) Bruno Mars - Locked Out Of Heaven Bruno Mars - When I Was Your Man Calvin Harris feat Tinie Tempah - Drinking From The Bottle Conor Maynard feat Wiley - Animal Disclosure feat AlunaGeorge - White Noise Emeli Sande - Clown ( :o at them playlisting a piano ballad!) James Arthur - Impossible Justin Bieber feat Nicki Minaj - Beauty And A Beat Justin Timberlake feat Jay Z - Suit & Tie Labrinth feat Emeli Sande - Beneath Your Beautiful Lawson - Learn To Love Again Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat Wanz - Thrift Shop Maroon 5 - One More Night Olly Murs - Army Of Two Olly Murs feat Flo Rida - Troublemaker One Direction - Kiss You Pink - Try Pink feat Nate Ruess - Just Give Me A Reason Pitbull feat TJR - Don't Stop The Party Rihanna - Diamonds Rihanna feat Mikky Ekko - Stay Rita Ora - Radioactive Rudimental feat John Newman - Feel The Love The Saturdays feat Sean Paul - What About Us :w00t: The Script feat Will.i.am - Hall Of Fame Swedish House Mafia feat John Martin - Don't You Worry Child Taylor Swift - 22 Taylor Swift - I Knew You Were Trouble Will.i.am feat Britney Spears - Scream & Shout Really surprised Feel The Love is still playlisted! :o Surely that must be pushing on Domino's record! Also surprised that they've already playlisted Taylor Swift's new single! Anyway, I'll update this thread everytime there is a new addition or dropout! And surprised One More Night is still being playlisted - it wasn't that big a hit was it?
February 20, 201313 yr I don't really think Capital's playlist means much tbh, can't actually imagine them playing White Noise much - and I'm pretty sure they're still playing Domino plenty.
February 20, 201313 yr How does this playlist work - do all the songs get equal rotation or does plays build up like radio1? Not surprised they still play Feel the Love it probabaly didnt get added until it got to no1 last June!!
February 20, 201313 yr I heard Adorn on Capital the other night and a remix of Pompeii a few weeks ago, I think that they are stepping out of their comfort zone with certain songs.
February 20, 201313 yr This playlist is absolutely ridiculous. What's the point of still regularly playing Feel The Love, Diamonds etc.? This is why the Radio 1 playlist is 100 times better. Not only do Capital insist on hammering songs that are months old, but there's just no variety in that playlist. I actually feel quite patronised by that playlist!! The only surprise is that they've playlisted Taylor Swift's new single way ahead of release  Edited February 20, 201313 yr by mango
February 20, 201313 yr I heard Adorn on Capital the other night and a remix of Pompeii a few weeks ago, I think that they are stepping out of their comfort zone with certain songs. I heard Adorn too, but it was at like 11pm, so it's hardly getting much exposure from the station. It is DIABOLIC that they recycle the same songs ad infinituum
February 20, 201313 yr Alicia Keys feat Nicki Minaj - Girl On Fire Bruno Mars - Locked Out Of Heaven James Arthur - Impossible Justin Bieber feat Nicki Minaj - Beauty And A Beat Labrinth feat Emeli Sande - Beneath Your Beautiful Maroon 5 - One More Night Olly Murs feat Flo Rida - Troublemaker Pink - Try Rihanna - Diamonds Rudimental feat John Newman - Feel The Love The Script feat Will.i.am - Hall Of Fame Swedish House Mafia feat John Martin - Don't You Worry Child And this is why the charts are as slow as they are. As much as I love "Feel The Love" is it REALLY deserving of still being on the playlist? Capital did you know that Rudimental have released a follow-up to Feel The Love? :o And did you know that that follow up is too old for this playlist too? :o The Radio 1 playlist is a lot better than this.
February 20, 201313 yr Author And this is why the charts are as slow as they are. It is intriguing how they have so much power over the charts though!

February 20, 201313 yr ^Yes but the point that is trying to be made is that capital rotates old songs far too much and doesnt introduce new songs (whether indie/new or current popular acts) near quickly enough no matter what your personal opinion of the tracks is. Look at the radio 1 list by thermometer above yes thaty play pop music by big established artists like rihanna/Calvin Harris and LM but they also mix that with indie and new artists like Foals, Bullet for my Valentine and ASAP Rocky. Seeing Thrift Shop in there is funny as im sure it will be in capitals most played list in 6-9 months time
February 20, 201313 yr Capital really is dire. A quick look at their last 10 played songs: Bruno Mars 'When I Was Your Man' Taylor Swift 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' Justin Timberlake 'Mirrors' Labrinth 'Beneath Your Beautiful' Robbie Williams 'Candy' Justin Bieber 'Beauty and the Beat' Pitbull 'Give Me Everything' Olly Murs 'Troublemaker' Alex Clare 'Too Close' Avicii 'I Could Be The One' Over half of those are between 4 & 9 months old, truly awful.
February 20, 201313 yr When I was on holiday last September, we heard 'One More Night' on Capital FM so much. ...and it's STILL on the playlist 5 months on?!!!
February 20, 201313 yr Every time I'm in my mates car a drive (and we drive for a good hour or two) 'Starships', 'One More Night', 'Diamonds' and 'Call Me Maybe' are ALWAYS played. They never play any random top ten hits like So Good, Sparks, All Fired Up, Wonderful, She Said etc it's always just the massive hits by the massive artists.
February 20, 201313 yr Capital still seem to play 'Give Me Everything' more than half of the songs on that list from my experience.
February 20, 201313 yr But is that what Capital listeners (and advertisers) want? Probably, but to such an extent? Surely not. It's the main reason I never listen to any radio station, there's not a single song I love enough to hear as much as radio play songs. Ultimately people end up liking and then buying what they hear, if all radio played more songs less often people would surely A) buy more and B) get bored of less.
February 20, 201313 yr Hall of Fame still being on there is almost as bad as Feel The Love - six months old and now they're on their THIRD single :manson: Then again, this does look quite fresh compared to Heart's playlist: Adele - Set Fire To The Rain Adele - Someone Like You Alyssa Reid - Alone Again Beyonce - Love On Top Bruno Mars - Count On Me Bruno Mars - Marry You Charlene Soraia - Wherever You Will Go Christina Perri - Jar Of Hearts Coldplay - Paradise Cover Drive - Twilight Ed Sheeran - Lego House Emeli Sande - Next to Me Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know Jason Mraz - I Won't Give Up Jessie J - Domino Katy Perry - The One That Got Away Madonna - Masterpiece Marcus Collins - Seven Nation Army Maroon 5 - Moves Like Jagger Olly Murs - Dance With Me Tonight Olly Murs - Oh My Goodness Pitbull feat. Ne-Yo - Give Me Everything Pixie Lott - All About Tonight Rihanna - We Found Love Will Young - Jealousy No words.
February 20, 201313 yr Thank god my parents are slightly more adventurous with their music taste than Heart :manson: Although my Mum prefers listening to Capital rather than Radio 1 because 'their's too much talking!', which means I have to endure at least one Pink song and Feel The Love every car journey!
