Bastille must be at #2 at least officially at this moment in time with the EP still number 1 on the album chart and the song number 3 on the singles chart.

 

Im not surprised Mirrors is still #1 with a healthy lead, that song got hammered on the radio today along with Diamonds and Stay by Rihanna. I heard those songs at least 4 times today at work

Maybe Heart have swapped Justin for one of Katy Perry, Olly Murs or Adele who they used to have on a loop before I gave up on Radio. It would be an improvement :)

It's probably a Global station, I don't think many other stations would be THAT repetitive. But I don't think Heart would be playing Mirror this early, it's very rare for them to play songs straight away. It could be Capital, but Capital haven't been playing Suit & Tie much (too urban I guess), so I'm not sure how they'll be about Mirror. Or it could be Choice, but I hear Nobodies Business and Pour It Up on that station too, and that station is nowhere near as repetitive as the other two (for obvious reasons).

Well Mirrors was #1 on the Big Top 40 show yesterday and every presenter on Capital mentions the show in some way so it might be possible for Capital to play Mirrors up to 4 times in a day.

Radio plays songs like that so much because they know a 6 year-old girl and her grandma can both tolerate those songs (=bigger audience and more money for the station). Anything vaguely creative and it won't get played too much usually, only occasionally do you get that magical song like Somebody That I Used to Know that's creative and has that mass appeal.

Agree entirely. It's all so safe. My music taste isn't exactly wild or "out there" but they seem to go for family friendly as you say. Songs that Grandad will dance to at wedding but kids aren't embarrassed about.

 

For me Justin has always had the whole package. He can really sing, really dance and he has lots of charisma. The top British male popstars seem to trade off their "charm" alone and not a lot else. Great to have him back. Was devastated he didn't sing on Jonathan Ross. That appearance did him so much good though. I didn't see one bad comment after on Twitter. Everyone seemed to love him. Excited for the album.

I don't want to be hysteric I'm just reasonable but Pompeii is nut stopping and gained more than 10% in the past 12 hours... and the EP is still number 1 and maybe will be there all week with it's price... and selling a LOT with 5 FULL days left I think we have a NE of number 1 this week and Mirrors will be only 2. Sad for me but... I think it's the truth, congratz anyway :)

lol. As much as i want Bastille at #1, there's surely no way that's gonna happen? It's still a long way off iTunes' #1, and while the EP certainly helps, i don't think it'll have THAT much effect.

That's a lot of JT! Which I'm all for! I've pre ordered the deluxe so hopefully will get it day of release. I need to lower my expectations as I loved the last album so much, this has a lot to live up to.
