People said that about Bingo Players & Far East Movement...

What if Capital FM had decided to play the song every 2 hours (it's on the playlist, but I hardly ever hear them play it)? Then it'd still be top 10 right now. We can't always predict how much exposure a song will get.

As a general rule, the less generic a song is, the faster it falls, so it was likely that Bingo Players (and also songs like White Noise and My Life) would fall fast, but that's not always the case (see: Thrift Shop).

The problem I have with JT's music is that I always like the sound of it but I'm never motivated to download it.

A lot of his stuff grows on you that's why it so brilliant. Why I first bought his Futuresex/Lovesounds album, I wasn't sure at all and missed "Justified" Justin but its now one of my favorite albums ever. Get's better every listen IMHO.

This is to Trap as Gangnam Style was to K-Pop. In that no other song from that genre will ever be in the mainstream again, and they're both awful ways to introduce their style of music to the masses.
The Billboard Hot 100 number 1 <_<

Only because of the rule change too!

Some of the Harlem Shake videos are funny, some of them are quite hot actually :kink: But this still isn't really a song.

A ridiculous one imo.

Oh shame Mirrors couldn't get at least a number 3 position :(

But there is always a next week :D

Ridiculous. Not the song btw, the rule change. Thrift Shop would of been #1 for at least 10 weeks with the previous rules.

Worst #1 since 'Little Things'! :puke2: I can see this holding on next week as well! :(
The Billboard Hot 100 number 1 <_<

I've never seen such melt-downs before.

Thrift Shop and Harlem Shake are probably the first two consecutive rhythm-based #1s there since the mid-00s. They've been nearly all melody-based in the past few years.

My iPlayer died and refused to come back on just before 'Harlem Shake'. I was going to turn it off after 'Thrift Shop' anyway though. I don't intend to ever listen to the 1D song, I really do not want to hear them murdering 2 classics, I can just imagine it should I ever want to (I won't). :D

Yay 1D *.* The "One Way or Another" part is great, despite being a straight cover. I'm not so keen on the "Teenage Kicks" interlude still though. It's Comic Relief's first #1 since 2009 though (or 2007 if you discount the "(Barry) Islands in the Stream" cover due to awfulness/unofficialness) :D
As I loved "Kiss You" so so much I'm gonna forgive One Direction for murdering these songs and congratulate them on getting Number One. Overall I really like what they do.
