I can't get over how amazing this playlist is to me compared to Radio 1's. even if only Regina would agree with me.

I'd probably be more inclined to buy an album with by an artist on Radio 2 than on the Radio 1 playlist. I do think the recent Radio 2 playlists have been very good: Bon Jovi, Dido, Robbie Williams, Jake Bugg, P!nk and Paloma Faith!

I can see Caro Emerald entering the playlist next week
I like the Radio 2 playlist, I just can't listen to it because of the rest of the stuff they tend to play!

How is the playlist selected?

The Playlist Committee, made up of producers and chaired by Jeff Smith, Head of Music Radio 2, meet each week to decide which new releases will be added to the station's playlist.

The playlist contains about 30 tracks which are divided into three levels: A list which receives the most plays, between 15 and 20 per week; B list between 5 and 10 plays and up to 5 plays per week for the C list.

The Radio 2 playlist is one of the most varied of any radio station in the UK and can include albums as well as singles. Before any track can be considered it must be commercially available or be within 3 weeks of commercial availability.

Strange stereophonics are removed the week before the albums out -probably fall on iTunes now

Although on the other hand the album is the featured album of the week, so will the band will still get good exposure over the course of the week anyway. I would think the Stereophonics would be more of an album band now anyway, so when you bare that in mind IS has done very well to spend the last few weeks bubbling under the Top 40.

Indeed though i would like them to make the top 40 and extend their impressive chart history on to 2013!!

Wonder if Rihanna will ever get played on BBC Radio 2. Seeing When I Was Your Man on the playlist makes me think Stay could possibly get there too.
Great to see Depeche Mode playlisted SOMEWHERE, if only Hurts were here too :(
Yay for Caro and what an excellent record of the week from Leddra Chapman, her current EP is her best material in four years!

Surely it's a bit late in the day for Stay to be playlisted?

Extremely late in the day lol. But I get the point that if any Rihanna song would have fit in with the Radio 2 playlist it would have been Stay.
