Although Pink rose to prominence as an R&B singer in the classic '90s LaFace mould, a front displayed on her debut CAN'T TAKE ME HOME, it was when she took control of her own image in 2001 that she truly became an icon. While the Linda Perry (4 Non Blondes) composed hit "Get This Party Started" strayed not all that far from her initial dance-pop path, the remainder of M!SSUNDAZTOOD revealed an artist schooled in the punk tradition. Further recordings wandered down multiple paths, cementing Pink's reputation as a genre-bending pop songstress. - HMV

This has really exceeded expectations. A little gutted that the post-album singles on Funhouse didn't have this level of success, but WOO nonetheless.

I know it was obvious and all, but GO BASTILLE!!! :w00t: :w00t:

Really pleased to see this turn into a massive hit.

Oh seriously piss off Emeli.

I guess that takes away the possibility Bastille and Stereophonics were slaying all the competition and Bastille probably have only done 50k at absolute best. Was expecting better. I imagine they'll hang around a fair while though. Great to see them at #1 even if it was obvious.

And yay for 'Just Give Me A Reason', still growing very much on each listen - would now love this to be a #1 especially if it stops Bruno/Nicole (saying this having not heard 'Boomerang' but I think I can reasonably assume it's poor) :P

One place behind Blow Me (One Last Kiss), GOWAN P!NK!!

BASTILLE

The album is a BEAUT.

If Bastille can't make it, I really hope that Pink ends up blocking Boomerang or that mediocre Bruno Mars tune from #1, the song is really growing on me.

Oh do die Bruno. Ah well, I will just pretend it's still last week. BEST TOP 2 EVA (officially obsessed wqith 'Pompeii' now).

Really glad for Bastille, Bad Blood is a really good album. Of course, I was always expecting it to be and I can see how some could find it samey, but I love their style of music and there are some really gorgeous moments on there

I wish Emeli Sande would f*** right off now. Good for Bastille though.

Emeli, stay! :D

Glad Bastille got #1!

Get that early promo Misha :cheer:

THE KING #1 again. *.* His second #1 to last more than a week there after '4 Minutes' being there for 4 weeks. Can't believe how well this has done. Really hoping it can hold on for a third week but it's not going to happen, I expect Bruno will climb there or maybe Nicole if she doesn't stall.

Perhaps Bruno Mars will manage a hat-trick of #2s this era, after three consecutive number ones previously.

Emeli needs to go away in the album chart now, she keeps blocking so many new entries from getting higher! Also, she best not take any of Adele's records or I'll be very angry!

Perhaps Bruno Mars will manage a hat-trick of #2s this era, after three consecutive number ones previously.

Would be quite fitting for his second era.

Emeli needs to go away in the album chart now, she keeps blocking so many new entries from getting higher! Also, she best not take any of Adele's records or I'll be very angry!

I don't think that is going to happen, Adele has sold 4.6 million while Emeli is on what? Like 1.7?
