Since this thread has been all about The Saturdays... you might have heard of Miley Cyrus "Twerking", well Mollie has made her own little twerk video:

After the initial prediction, it looks like we won't be quite reaching a part 2 topic so Loreen will keep her record after all! :kink:

FLOP. It's a sad week to be a Sats fan

To be fair, them actually staying at #1 provokes less discussion than them plummeting in the latter half of the week.
 65. PJ & Duncan - Let's Get Ready To Rumble :P

I wonder if The Sats will get a second week at #1. Justin is decreasing and there's no major releases this week, plus the solo version of What About Us is out on Monday as well as the Now! 84 version.

It'd certainly be a cause for The Saturdays' fans to celebrate if they could manage a second week at #1 - the fans were/are ecstatic with one week alone. I have to say, the Sean Paul version does very little for me; prefer it when it's just the girls. Not their best song by a long shot, but the fact they're only getting their first #1 now (after 11 single releases) is a testament to them/their fanbase/the fact they still have appeal; so good on them.

11. Taylor Swift "22"

12. Nelly "Hey Porsche"

13. Pitbull "Feel This Moment (feat. Christina Aguilera)"

^ I wonder who'll make it to the T10 first +/or whether any/all three can make it there officially.

34. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis "Can't Hold Us"

37. Gorgon City "Real (feat. Yasmin)"

^ Hoping by some miracle both tracks made the T40 officially. I think Macklemore should've done it easily (say #32/33), Gorgon City might creep in (#39/40). If only Iggy Azalea was there to complete an array of great new entries (currently down to #53).

looks like it could be a 3 way battle next week between saturdays, jt and pink

Seeing PJ & Duncan up to #50 on iTunes makes me wonder just how much impact CD:UK might've had on the charts had iTunes been as popular back in 1999/2000. I remember Ant & Dec performed the whole song on CD:UK (think it was their final time presenting CD:UK).

It's sure become one of those 90s cult tracks that have become more popular than their chart peak would suggest.

The pre-orders have been released an hour early again meaning Cascada's 'Glorious' is now available on UK iTunes!! :cheer:

Itunes being around with Cd:UK ( I Loved that show) and top of the pops would imo have made the promotion for artists and their tracks much better than nowadays.

It seems to go through phases. Like you have the late 90's up to about 2001/2002 when there was absolutely loads of generic music. Then you get periods like around 2006 time when there wasn't very much (there was lots of guitar music, etc. at the time), and then you get 2011 which is full of it again. And then it fades again. Then at the end of this decade it'll probably be all generic music again.

But you get generic music of all genres, all the time (in every music 'phase'/time period). I'm sure even during the indie rock phase, iirc around 2006 time when The Kooks, Kaiser Chiefs etc were doing very well, there were a lot of generic guitar driven/'indie' music. Was there a R&B phase in the UK; I know there was in the US around 2004-2007 but I'm not sure about over here..? I sure as hell know there was a lot of generic R&B type music in that time period.

I think Adorn by Miguel could've been massive like Let Me Love You was if it had got support here.

I was about to question how Adorn sounds anything like LMLY until I released you were talking about the original/the actual LMLY and not Ne-Yo's (Until You Learn To Love Yourself).
