April 29, 201312 yr Insanely dull video. What on earth are cycling, skateboarding, having your hair cut, riding in a taxi and singing karaoke meant to symbolise?! None of them look particularly great in it either... The song has grown quite a bit though - they performed it on Nick Grimshaw's show on Radio 1 this and the vocals sounded pretty strong which is a positive from it all.
April 29, 201312 yr They've covered Pompeii by Bastille, too. It's a decent (and v beautiful) cover! :D

April 29, 201312 yr The video is reasonable, they all look good in it anyway. The song gets better with every listen.
April 29, 201312 yr I thought the video was ok - sets each of them up clearly George likes Skateboarding, JJ likes cycling... Josh clearly is into preening himself too - and it was Open Mic as opposed to Karaoke :D Some people just find the stupidest things to complain about
April 30, 201312 yr Such a good, little, pop song. I really like the simplicity of it. It's catchy and addictive. The video is indeed, dull, but again they still have a budget to keep to and with it being so early on in their career, their budget will be minimal/thrown more towards the promotional side of things (which seems to be doing wonders for them so far). Quite fitting that they covered 'Pompeii' actually! I'm probably the only person who thinks so, but this does (in small points) remind me slightly of that.

June 1, 201312 yr So this is out at midnight...how well do we all think this will do?
June 1, 201312 yr I assume it will peak at #3 on iTunes behind Robin and Naughty Boy, but may slip down to #5 officially behind Passenger and Daft Punk depending on how front-loaded their sales are.
June 7, 201312 yr Fab performance of Carry You on Loose Women  And the boys were fab when they were taking part in Loose Women's Got Talent, too
June 10, 201312 yr Enters at #6...the ghost of "Not Such an Innocent Girl" era Victoria Beckham rattles its chains. HA!
June 10, 201312 yr Enters at #6...the ghost of "Not Such an Innocent Girl" era Victoria Beckham rattles its chains. HA! Or Joe McElderry. :kink:
June 10, 201312 yr Victoria Beckham, bar the Truesteppers song and "Let Your Head Go", her music career was dire. But nevermind that, she's a babe
June 10, 201312 yr Or Joe McElderry. :kink: Good call. I just suggested ol' VB cause there are similarities - both can pout for England and both's debut singles (if we discount True Steppers) debuted here...they're obviously gonna have to pull their socks up for the 2nd single.
June 10, 201312 yr Missing the Top 5 is a terrible start for a boyband of this nature, signed to Syco and coming from X Factor, while many would be delighted with number 6 which is very respectable i highly suspect all in the Union J camp is highly disappointed. Second single is more than crucial for them now.
June 10, 201312 yr Can we please bear in mind that Union J did not do as well as One Direction or JLS did on The X Factor. They didn't make the final and they were bottom 2 THREE times. They can't be expected to do as well as those bands who clearly had much more backing when they started out. #6 is a decent start, could be better considering it was #3 in the midweeks but it's nothing to laugh at and it's not terrible.

All of that. Plus, even considering those that WERE in the final last year (Chris, Jahmene and James), only one of them is going to have proper success, so Union J could be the second most popular act from XF 2012, despite placing fourth.
June 10, 201312 yr Whether they made the final or not is irrespective of what their label is expecting from them I shouldn't wonder. Diana Vickers and Cher Lloyd both finished 4th in their respective years and still managed a number one each. People can say with JLS gone (or at least after this Christmas) that there's a gap in the market but there isn't. Really it's their own fault for releasing a single that sounds like One Direction on an off day whilst saying that they're supposedly 'different'. 'Carry You' would have been fine had it come out in 2010 but it's not three years ago. Pop is always moving and you can't just hop on a bandwagon and hope for the best anymore.
