Hopefully you like Daft Punk's song, since that's probably being played by every radio station in the country (apart from the rock stations). You'd be punishing quite a lot of stations otherwize.

Lol fortunately I love it! Along with Malinchak, Carly Rae and Demi Lovato, keeping music this year decent eh!

*Otherwise <_<

I actually think 2013 has been one of the best years in recent times, so many gems. There's not one genre dominating or over saturating either, I know there's a lot of dance but I like that there's more respectable sounding dance tracks shining through.

Music this year is so generic it makes me sad. It's either:

Dance. Or: Adele-style ballad. Great.

I felt sad today and the other day when I was on the bus and heard Calvin Harris through someone's earphones. Today it played on the radio and reinforced my thoughts: bland, awful, tuneless, by-the-numbers dance, and we've had quite enough of that this year! 'I need your love'. Then the cheesy breakdown, then Ellie sings a few emotionless lines by the numbers signifying nothing over a boring beat, cutting off just in time for the boring beat to take focus. Why? :( It means nothing and the beat is so boring and bland.

Alicia Keys "New Day" at #751. I believe this is her next single. Music channels have taken up its video quite quickly. Hopefully it does much better than "Brand New Me". I can see it doing well over the summer.

Olly Murs' video for 'Dear Darlin'' has premiered.

It's currently at #110. I wonder if he could fight for a low top 40/high top 50 position by Sunday? I hope so. It's similar to Emeli's 'Heaven'.

13. Sub Focus Feat Alex Clare - Endorphins (Looks like this might knock Stooshe out the top 10 tomorrow)

I'm hoping that the 59p songs start to wear off sooner rather than later!

Surely 2009 and 2011 were much, much worse for this though? I agree about the Calvin Harris track, but when listening to the top 40, it's one of the only ones like that in there anymore (along with a few like #thatPOWER, Play Hard, that Armin track, etc.). This type of music definitely makes up less than 25% of the chart now, and will probably continue to decrease further.

This better do well, because 50 Cent and Dr. Dre weren't allowed to release their single which samples this because Alicia and her label went back on it at the last minute. :drama: It's a good song though. She seems to be having a different single in the UK to the US, where she's releasing Fire We Make, but she did this with her last album too (which annoyed me, because Un-Thinkable was awesome!).

The three biggest songs of the year say hi.

It's up to someone else to decide what they want to listen to? Just because you don't like it, it doesn't meant that other people do like it.

Bit of an OT question, but one that has been puzzling me for a while :

Why is that Goo Goo Dolls song called 'Iris', when there's no-one of that name mentioned in the song's lyrics?

Radio 1 playing Another Love by Tom Odell - must be releasing this as the lead before the albums released on 24th June. Good news its an epic ballad and has been a hit in other countries - makes sense to build up to the album with it. Its Sarah Cox's big thing!

Yeah its alisted on 1 Xtra!

He announced it as the second 'official' single a while back, not that it'll do anything; having already charted. They need to generate some more hype around him ASAP or the album's going to flop.

 12. Sub Focus "Endorphins"

 13. Tich "Dumb"

Some relatively 'big' drops for the likes of will.i.am, Pink and Duke Dumont if these five new entries continue to do well.

^^ If radio 1 alist it he could rise up itunes again pretty quick, one of my fav songs of 2013!!

Hilarious how they changed the lyrics!!

Is Another Love definitely being released as a single? Also, what have they done to the lyrics - have they cut out the swearing?

Things really did go balls up when they released the awful Hold Me as the official single. The Another Love EP is amazing, Hold Me is dire.

Little Mix are holding up quiet well and i think how ya doin will now easily out sell change your life. I really want Stooshe to stay top 10, they need this single to go top 10 as their is a sense that this is a make or break single for them whereas this is not the case for Sub Focus.

Yeah they changed the swear words to 'you annoy me alot' or something like that it made me laugh. Its a record of the week for one of the daytime djs so theres a good chance it could be the new single (albums out on 24th June) so it would make sense to playlist this in the next 2 weeks.

Hold Me was a grower for me.

DP are on Zane Lowe tonight, wonder if they are over promoting this week - if they perform Get Lucky somewhere it could boast it again - should be no1 this week (hopefully with above 100k sales) and then next week again with the album out should make it 5 weeks - think it needs a video though!!
