NOW 27 was my first

I have the very first one but it is on vinyl.

So is mine. I won it in a draw. They were giving 1000 away I think. Never bought one or had one since though. Daughter has some I think.

I also can't believe that Now 84 is the second biggest selling Now album ever as well! :o

Yes, that fact astounded me too, considering album sales are lower these days.

Surely that's not true. I heard them say it on the programme, but really? A SPRING Now! album?

I'm guessing the Now! 44 is still the best selling (don't think they established that last night).

I can't believe it because it simply can't be true if you trawl through the sales threads since its release.
Having a quick look through The Sales Vault, Now 84 is nowhere near the second biggest selling Now album with 563,563 copies in total two weeks ago - Now 44 sold 1,440,000 copies in its first two months alone while Now 47 has sold 1,400,000 copies!

I wouldn't be so sure about Phil Collins, I'm pretty sure "You'll Be In My Heart" from the 1999 Tarzan soundtrack was on a Now album I had, would only be an 8 year gap. (though I guess that's a long gap for a 30 year period)

Yeah, but it's the span, not the gap. Brian May appeared with Vanguard & Queen in 2003, so that's only 9 years as well.

Ha, youngsters... :P

Now 1 was my first!

Now 5 for me.

Ahh! I missed the show and the wording of the post confused me. Now all we need is for Bonnie Tyler's Eurovision song to make the next album and the record would be broken again. No chance of that happening though really.

Just watched this on catch up. Really good programme - surely Now 84 isn't the second biggest selling though (Now 44 is the biggest I think?).

My first Now was the first one as my older sister had it for Christmas in 1983. I think my own first one was Now 10 or 11....

We've already answered your questions! :kink:

My first was NOW! 21.. it was one of the old fashioned "fat" double CD boxes!

I have the first Now album, as well as 8 and all of 37-84. I occasionally buy old ones from a shop near me which sells them, getting Now CDs from the 90s is a really nostalgic feeling!

I don't know who it is that was on Now albums 28 years apart (surely that would mean they were on at least one between 2011 and 2013, and I've just checked all from 78 to 84 and can't see anyone obvious - unless this includes the spin-off albums as well, such as Now Love or Now Running) but Phil Collins was on both the first one in 1983 (with You Can't Hurry Love), and Now 68 in 2007 (with In The Air Tonight, it re-entered the chart after that Cadbury's gorrilla advert). A gap of 24 years. :)

Edit: Ah, it was already answered, it's Brian May - sorry!

Now 40 on cassette was my very first one when I was 9...aaah 'Because We Want To' was on it. Happy days. My first one on CD was Now 44 about a year later...can't believe it's the biggest selling one!

Thought this was about 5-10 minutes of interesting documentary with the remainder full of bored celebrities reading from a script. Some of them seemed to genuinely have an interest and know what they were talking about (Dom Joly, Dermot O'Leary, even Scott from 5ive), otherwise The Saturdays just cracked jokes and Sean Paul, who clearly had never heard of the series in his life, talked about vinyl for a bit. Thought Liz McClarnon was gonna be the same but redeemed herself by the admittedly pretty awesome story of singing 'Sailing On The Seven Seas' to future manager Andy McClusky because she knew it from Now 20.

I've got them all from about Now 26 onwards, but I only started collecting them in 2007! Most were a quid or so each from charity shops. Sadly don't have any of the really rare ones yet though (unless Now 58 on cassette counts, lol), will have to look out for that Now 4!

I have Now 1, 10 - 16 and 18 on vinyl.

23, 26, 27, 29, 35 - 47, 49 - 51, 53 on cd.
