The lead single will be a cover version of "Titanium" :manson: I hope it flops, I can't have him ruining that song.

Oh my god.

I like the guy, but that is a terrible choice of song to cover. :manson:

'X Factor' Jahmene Douglas announces debut album 'Love Never Fails'

Jahmene Douglas has announced details of his debut studio album.

The X Factor runner-up will release an album of cover versions titled Love Never Fails on July 22 via RCA.

Nicole Scherzinger - his X Factor mentor - will appear for a cover of 'The Greatest Love of All', the track they sang together on last year's live final.

"Nicole knew this would be one of my favourite songs," said Douglas.

"And when she sang it with me on the final it was like singing with my big sister. She's so incredibly talented. This song and Nicole ooze class."

Douglas will release a cover version of David Guetta and Sia's 'Titanium' as the lead single.

Other covers on the record include Coldplay's 'Fix You', Emeli Sandé's 'Next To Me' and Sarah McLachlan's 'Angel'.

The full album tracklisting is as follows:

1. Fix You

2. The Greatest Love Of All (feat. Nicole Scherzinger)

3. His Eye Is On The Sparrow

4. Halo

5. Forever Young

6. Give Us This Day

7. Angel

8. Titanium

9. I Look To You

10. Next To Me

Am I the only one glad he's releasing a 'Titanium' cover? The whole things sounds like car crash central to me and I'm excited for it.

Sadly he will ruin it whether it flops or not :P Luckily it will flop, it will just be some awful ballad or gospel arrangement that renders the song barely recognisable.

He's going to ruin every song that's included on this album. </3 I'm only looking forward to hearing Nicole. :heehee:

The video is out there for Titanium. It is obviously terrible and pretty much identical to his performance on X Factor.
I actually feel really sorry for him - I wasn't keen on him, but the label have so BLATENTLY put so little effort into him. At least Joe's first single as a cover was pretty much unknown, he stands no chance whatsoever now. I actually like his version of Titanium quite surprisingly.

Here is the 'Titanium' music video Jack mentioned:

This actually isn't as bad as I was expecting  He atleast seems to have learnt a modicum of vocal control since X Factor, and has largely dropped those awful screechy ad-libs.

Echo what everyone else is saying about his record label totally screwing him over. The album will probably get to something like #8, drop out after a few weeks, and sell about 20k in total -- though that will still probably be enough to make him the second-best-selling album of the X Factor class of 2012.

That's really not that bad, I'm glad he's not oversinging the song (like he did EVERY SINGLE WEEK on The X Factor with every song he was given). It's certainly not as fabulous as Sia's, but it still sounds very nice. I can feel the emotion in his voice.
It's still a bit shit but much less awful than I expected, just very dull and just 'there'. This is a song that needs much more than that, but at least it isn't as terrible as it seemed on paper.
Horrible, he shouldn't have been a finalist on X Factor to start with.

Another reality TV artist releasing an album full of cover versions which shows a distinct lack of effort and creativity. Its likely to flop miserably.

Oh I kind of am as well. It's Marcus all over again, could even do worse than Marcus.

(Incidentally since when is there an accent over the 'e' in 'Jahméne'?)

Several things wrong with this.

It's too soon to release a cover of that song.

Secondly, they should have just left it as a piano-ballad instead of bringing in the drums at 1:20.

And they should have picked a song that wasn't already a shouty song (ps I do love the original).
