And this is why this song won't stay on the radio for 'years' as that guy on here said. It was commercial tripe, coupled with awful vocals, produced and manufactured for radio. When radio stopped playing it (finally  ) , no one was gonna go out their way looking for it.

It will be on the radio for years. It's a completely non-offensive song, all singing, not much autotune, nice poppy acoustic-ish instrumental, wide appeal, and so on. The only thing is that it's got quite a lot of drums, radio doesn't seem to like songs with lots of percussion.

But I agree a lot of these songs that have really long chart runs, wouldn't be selling like that if radio stopped playing the songs. Maybe it's suddenly dropped because Capital has stopped playing it so much, but Heart will keep playing it for a lot longer I'm sure.

Also, just because Walks Like Rihanna has been hammered does't necessarily mean it'll open well (though that has been the rule this year, any song hammered by radio, regardless of quality, has smashed ...). Look at the Wanted's discography sales and then listen to the uh quality of Rihanna. It'll open around 50-60,000 for a low top 5/ no.6 place.

Surely even you aren't idiotic enough to ignore the link between pre-release airplay and opening sales. It would be catastrophic for them to open on anything less than 70k, and I don't but the whole "well they barely ever sell any more" (hi What About Us)

There are much more passive and less offensive songs that the radio can replace the Pink song with, though. I really doubt we'll be hearing from it again on radio, especially once Heart stop playing it and replace it with a new Emeli Sande/ Adele ballad.

WHo would it be a disaster for ton open on less than 70? The Wanted are fading compared to 1 Direction. I just can't see them opening very highly.

Sorry to disappoint you but JGMAR is exactly the type of song that will get molested on Heart FM for years to come.

3 singles to break 100k next week then?

I'm still not sure if the Wanted will break 6 figures, probably come close to it, they will be frontloaded on Sunday, pretty sure they will do around 90k to 95k, not going to do a Michael. and say 70k  -_-

I'm not sure The Wanted will quite do 100k but I think it'll definitely be their second biggest opener and another top 3 for them. The pre-order has been performing very consistently for ages.

It's bizarre to think that The Wanted will be back in the lead for number of top 3 hits out of them, JLS (7) and One Direction (6) after next week. They don't seem that big at all compared to either of them.

Kendrick back  to #97 YAY.

Robin Thicke possibly won't do it again, since he seems on course for a 60k drop this week.

The vocals really aren't that bad in IDC. They're much better than some chart vocals, note the above.

Also, there has been a better quality of music/ no.1s pretty much any other year! Don't forget awful + dull songs like Mirrors made no.1 this year.

Performed this on Daybreak this morning. Wonder if it might actually go top 100 now.

Yeah, even a few months before it became big, i'd figured it would be the kind of song radio will be murdering for years to come. I think the other 2013 hits that'll still be getting radio play 5-10 years from now are Let Her Go, Pompeii, When I Was Your Man, Get Lucky and a few others (Waiting All Night? Though that's maybe pushing it a bit)

There might be some smaller hits which become radio staples too. Like Need You Now by Lady Antebellum is probably one of the most played songs on the radio from 2010 now. Maybe also songs like Locked Out of Heaven, Ho Hey and Radioactive. I don't think Waiting All Night will be played much in the future though.

I''m certainly not complaining, but I have no idea why it's reclimbed?
I think Gooddelta said it was featured on the most recent episode of TOWIE, which would explain it's rise.

59p songs in the top 100:

YASSSSS! COMING FOR THAT SECOND WEEK AT #40! :yahoo:

I think Rudimental's next single will be either Baby or Right Here since those are the songs I hear on the radio the most. I hope it's Baby since they've released three drum & bass singles in a row, so they need to show a different side now.
I am hoping that Rudimental go for 'Powerless' next. Becky Hill sounds fantastic on it and it's still pretty much their sound. Wasn't it one of the highest cherry picks too? I think it'd do well. It'll be a consistent top 20 hit, I reckon which will be what they need for a pre-album single.

26. Ke$ha Feat Will.i.am - Crazy Kids

109. Bridget Mendler - Hurricane

147. Snoop Lion Feat Miley Cyrus - Ashtrays & Heartbreaks

157. Kelly Clarkson - People Like Us

168. Leanne Mitchell - Pride

209. Miley Cyrus - We Can't Stop.

Yet again, Bruno Mars claws back to the brink of the top 10 JUST before the weekend effect sweeps him away again.
Thankfully, I don't think there's a chance that Bruno Mars 'Treasure' will go top 10, I think it's peaked!
I think I'll give Bruno one more week before I count him out entirely, but at this stage I think 'Treasure' is likely to just be a top 15 for him, yeah. Really surprising after the initial fast climb, but definitely pleasing!
Why do Bruno's best songs have to be his lowest peakers? :( (Excluding 'Marry You').
Rudimental should release Right Here (feat. Foxes) as their summer release to remind people they exist - then release Free (feat. Emeli Sande) at Christmas with an X Factor performance, it has massive hit potential and sounds more radio-friendly than their other songs (thanks to it not being drum n' bass)
