Youtube data, seriously? What was that debacle?

I'm not going to explain in detail, since people will be like "lol shut up nobody cares", but after Gangnam Style missed #1, they decided to include Youtube views in the chart. They changed it the same week Harlem Shake blew up, so it got #1 because obviously it had loads of Youtube views from everybody's videos to it

I don't think it's that big a deal. The vast majority of the time when I'm listening to a song on Youtube, it's for the audio, not the video, and I usually have it open on another tab in the background, so it's essentially playing the same role to me as Spotify or something like that. With a few exceptions like Blurred Lines, I think it's mainly just female pop fans that actively watch and care about music videos.

Blurred Lines is very close to Icona Pop now. I think they'll switch positions rather soon, although that might just be the weekend effect.

Solange to steal John Newman's weave.

Tbh I hope Love Me Again somehow misses #1 for a 'meltdown' from the "loons".

This to happen please. The Saturdays to unexpectedly get a huge #01

Failing that, Icona Pop or Avicii to move their release forward.

How is it very close? It's still only 88% of Icona Pop. If it were 95%+ then I would say it was very close

:o @ Solange. That deserved to be a long running top 10 hit tbh. :(

They're hardly that close, Robin is still only 88%. I think Icona will hold on until John passes them on Sunday, at which point Robin will overtake.

Yeah, you're right. By "rather soon" I meant within the next couple of days or so. You think John Newman will shoot up so quickly? I hope so, it's a good song.

Part of the BBC3 Glastonbury coverage earlier on.

Thanks! :D That's a strong boost from being shown on BBC3!

Robin is barely any closer than he has been at any other point since Icona Pop overtook him... as I predicted, Icona Pop's lead has remained roughly constant all week. I doubt they'll decrease sales by much next week either, another week or two over 100k could be possible.

Personally not even really expecting John to be #1, I get the feeling that like Chris Malinchak he'll slightly underperform compared to his pre-orders. I'll be ecstatic if he's anywhere in the top 3 really.
