"Read All About It" just been performed on BBC Three's coverage of Glastonbury, another boost please. :cheer:

:cheer: An underated song that really needs more exposure!

Okay, look at '#Beautiful' as an example. Obviously I can't prove anything for sure but I highly doubt Capital would've touched the song if it wasn't looking to be a hit in the US. Radio 1 is debatable considering they might have playlisted it simply because of Miguel. Also, I wouldn't compare 'Clarity'/'I Love It' to the likes of 'Radioactive' etc simply because the former songs are Dance-Pop songs while the latter is Rock - radio are more likely to support Rock songs regardless of chart success while it is different for Pop songs.

'One More Night' is a poor example because it was a post-album single. The fact that it went top 10 was an achievement in itself. Obviously there are loads of songs that have been hits in the US yet haven't done anything over here but I never claimed every US hit was a hit over here afterwards - I just said a lot.

Technically, 'Clarity' is a "post-album single" too  And saying UK radio are more likely to support rock songs than dance-pop songs simply is not true, and hasn't been since about 2008.

I think he meant radio are more likely to support rock songs that don't do much in the charts than pop songs that don't do much in the charts. That only applies to some stations though, Capital for example pretty much don't support any rock. I think the only vaguely alternative song they've playlisted this year was 'Pompeii' and that was only there for a couple of weeks.

EDIT: Oh, edit out the part of your post I was replying to then :P

Walks Like Rihanna is being used in the Wimbledon coverage.

Climb up the chart please!!! :cheer:

Fake 'Wake Me Up' now at #40 :cheer: Can the original please get rush released this Sunday, it and John Newman would make a fab top 2 (preferably with Avicii at #1!)

You are no John Newman loon. :hitler:

Who's in this fan club then? Me, SevenSeize, Rabbit Heart, Bray... anyone else?

Avicii needs to not release next week, still not sure John Newman will even beat Icona Pop but he'd definitely not beat Avicii! It'd be great if 'Wake Me Up' is released the following week though. Would be a good #1.

I will be part of the John Newman fanclub next week if Avicii isn't releasing in the same week :P

Out of interest which artists have had the Glastonbury boost in the charts since 2007

This is not good enough. John Newman looning should be taken seriously and should take up a large proportion of your life. Anything getting in the way means that you are not devoted to the CAUSE.

YES GET IN THERE KEN

Now now Griff, let's not have any hostility amongst us loons ^_^ I'm confident that by next week we'll have made 'What About Us' week look TAME in comparison

And YAY ukcsf

Did they play 'Thrift Shop'? Because Macklemore are on an independent label who wouldn't be able to "tell" Capital to play them.

Capital played Thrift Shop and also Can't Hold Us (both of them before they became hits, and around the same time as Radio 1 playlisted them). Capital will never, ever find out some obscure song and start playing it. Listen to the station for 3 hours, and you'll see what I mean. I've listened to Capital a lot ever since it started existing in my area (2010). In the entire time I've listened, not one, literally, not one album track has ever been played. Galaxy used to play non-singles or lesser known songs a lot, but Capital has never done it before.

One More Night is definitely their best single behind Moves Like Jagger though

I'm at a payphone, trying to call home, all of my change I spent telling you: no.

Eeek. Makes me thankful that the UK chart is solely based on sales and nothing else

I can't imagine many people can really take that Hot 100 chart seriously tbh (especially after the whole addition of Youtube data/Harlem Shake debacle)

Youtube data, seriously? What was that debacle?

Okay I don't think you're reading my posts properly.

'Clarity' should be treated the same as pre-album singles because Zedd's album hasn't done anything at all over here (if it has been released). The song wouldn't have lost sales through the album selling loads. And as Eric said, I stated radio is more likely to support Rock songs that don't do well in the charts than Pop songs.
