I will find it interesting to know exactly how many copies of 'I Love It' by Remix Junkies and also by Remix Chix were downloaded (especially as i *think* both versions reached the Top 20 on iTunes before being deleted) and see how many sales the Icona Pop version have 'lost' with the release date not being brought forward sooner due to the popularity of the fake versions.

Hopefully the sales from Remix Junkies and Remix Chix (plus the other fake versions and also the Glee version) will get a mention in the MW report when it gets released.

TBH that's an interesting thing imo. I'm not entirely sure that fake versions could cause lost sales (well some but not that many, people think they do).

Lost sales come rather from a late release because I think the later a song is released the more people will download it illegally and they won't buy it anymore later.

But there's no proof for either side of course.

Apparently, people who illegally download tend to illegally download everything, and people who legally download tend to not illegally download anything (because they don't know how to, or for moral reasons). There's not many people who do a bit of both.

Whilst this is truein some way, I don't agree at all. The world is not just black and white

I for example do both. I buy songs that I really like. Sometimes I download something illegally and if I find it very good I buy it to have a clean copy of it.

Oh I thought will.i.am was done climbing! Looks like another top 5 for him :o

Jason Derulo to be down to #6 any minute now, lol bye.

I'd love to see Bang Bang in the top 10 next Sunday

BTW I just watched the Voice performance of will.i.am and Leah and it's really fantastic :D

Icona Pop top 10 after just 12 hours, fantastic!!! :cheer: Great to see 'Bang Bang' doing so well too!

Who actually sings the chorus in 'Bang Bang' (the album version) because it sounds a bit like Leah imo.

Keep going Icona Pop. The Wanted are still a fair bit behind Robin Thicke so ideally 'Blurred Lines' stays ahead or 'I Love It' overtakes.

I'd like The Wanted to briefly overtake Robin Thicke so the latter loses the #1 impact, then The Wanted will naturally fall and hopefully Icona Pop will be waiting to take over. Or something.

That's why I said "not many". I'm doing media at uni, so we've had lots of lectures about illegal downloading and Napster and all that kind of stuff. I can show you the lecture slides if you don't believe me, but there's honestly not many people that do both. Most people that legally download don't illegally download a song here and there.

And I work in sales/marketing and see, experience customers's shopping behaviour, practices, habits. So what?

What you learn, study in school is completely different to real life experience.
