7 new entries will probably be Jason, Dizzee, Tom, Arctics, London Grammar, Ke$ha and Leah McFall. No Kanye West, but he's still done pretty well (and obviously will get that #1 album).

I'm glad the Arctics made it :P

I'd never noticed before how Mya is shoehorned into that sleeve design. It's like they only remembered her at the last minute!

...And there'll be more about 15-year-old singles artwork at the same time next week folks.

Gosh those sales in 2008! :o I'm sure they must start rising pretty fast soon though, I don't think the sales in 2009 were too bad. It's a shame, since so many amazing songs that were really massive hits have low sales. :(

Great to see 7 new entries this week. Hopefully we can keep this up on a weekly basis.

Surely Will.i.am will be in there somewhere?

Less of a career, more of a destruction of the Transvision Vamp classic.

Oh, I see :P

Agreed, Spice Girls Holler was one of the biggest no.1 hits of the year, but its sales look tiny in comparison to all the other Spice hits.

It was one of the smallest iirc (didn't make the end of year top 40), and 2000 was actually a pretty good year for sales, it was 2003 when they started to drop off a cliff!

Surely Will.i.am will be in there somewhere?

Not with only a few hours of major sales :P

I'm sure it's happened a couple of times where songs have got top 40 straight after Saturday night TV show boosts. I think Iris did it once, and I'm sure something else did, but those songs sell really consistently normally, so they need less of a boost to get top 40.

I remember being so shocked when Coldplay got to number 1 five years ago, listening to it now, it definitely doesn't sound out of place, a real classic and such a wonderful new sound for them

I've been a bit out of touch with the charts thanks to no internet the last few days, I hope Tom Odell has managed to get into the top 10.
