I really like it, much better than 'Wild' anyway. :D I'm looking forward to hearing a proper HQ version of the song, I assume the music video will be released within the next week or so.

Its good fun but exactly what I didn't want from Jessie, I was glad when I heard 'Wild', despite not being entirely won over by the execution of it, as at least it was the edgy Jessie that I so love. This is so generic and standard, it just sounds like a mix of 'Domino' and 'Raise Your Glass'. I can also understand the voice criticisms too, on a track like this especially, she needs to learn the act of subtlety. I like it and its catchy but she is making it hard for me to stan her with this material. Oh well, at least it sounds like a hit :lol:

It's growing after the few listens.

 

The fading 'woah's' after the chorus are vile though. :puke2:

 

And her voice is a bit irritating as she over sings a lot.

 

I need to hear it in HQ to see if it makes it sound a bitter better.

I actually like it yes it's a bit generic and I think I prefer wild as I prefer the edgy Do it like a Dude Sid of Jessie but the song is quite catchy so I can see it doing well for her .

This is definitely a lot better than Wild, IMO (that was just a mess, although the US version; I'm able to listen to it). Sounds better and all, and just generally a much better song. :wub:

Quite liking this on first listen. It's no Domino or Price Tag but it's very catchy and radio friendly!

For a minute I thought it was a cover of the 80s hit, but after listening to it once, I don't want to hear it again, it sounds really awful and messy in places and sounds as if she is in pain.

I've liked some of her songs before but I think this could be in contention for my worst song of the year. :puke: It's such a shame certain other artists are releasing killer songs that would never stand a chance yet this woman churns out something like this which will get immediate blanket support. :manson:

Her voice is unbearable. Had to switch off at 1:25 because that post chorus is unlistenable.

Jessie gets way too much hate on here :( I love her!! She is so confident and usually spot on with her music (although I cannot stand LaserLight or Domino anymore). Excited to hear this.

I am so with you, completely (also with the opinion of this song - although I managed to get to the end, I just wish she'd stop going OTT on tracks like this. It's what worked for 'Price Tag' and to a lesser extent, 'Domino'!) I like the song, generic pop is my THANG and Dr. Luke rarely ever disappoints when it comes to pop, but her voice will get irritating two or three more listens in. It's good though, nice little melody!

 

But hey, how are we ones to complain about her voice being "screechy" and "like a banshee" or whatever? If it works for Florence...

But Florence's screeches are MAJESTIC, whereas Jessie's are usually akin to a cat being heckled :lol:

 

I'm definitely preferring Wild but I think that this will do better and be a lot more commercial!

Oh dear, I can only echo most others - horrifically oversang from start to finish, and these lyrics are going to do wonders for her public perception aren't they?

 

Wild seemed like a lot of different ideas all awkwardly placed in one song, this is more focused, but the screeching, the messy production, the constant namechecks...its all sounding like one big mess so far (and I actually like her music occasionally)

I don't think people are inherently against belting vocals, they're just against belting vocals when they're accompanied by a horrid, high-pitched tone. I can understand hating Florence's voice but it is absolutely nothing compared to this or "YOU'RE LIKE A LASERLIGHT, BUUUUUUUUUUUURNING" etc. Honestly, 'Laserlight' is the single worst vocal I've ever heard.
