John Newman selling almost 39% more than Icona Pop now! Doing much better than Icona Pop were doing versus Robin Thicke at this time last week, so unless they've collapsed that should mean somewhere near to 140K is possible.

Maybe this could be the second 'Gentleman' to peak at #10 this year.

 

I was just thinking that earlier, from a geeky statistical point of view it'd be cool to have two songs called 'Gentleman' peaking at #10 in such a short space of time.

I can't see The Sats getting a top 10 debut, even with physicals its going to be a huge stretch.

 

The song has stalled on itunes and is already dropping back and its only Monday evening. Other songs behind it are either catching up or have multiple versions availiable. I'd say they'd be lucky to stay top 15 officially by Sunday.

It really depends how fast they plummet in the next couple of days... on that subject The Wanted are holding up better than I expected, especially given how sh!te the song is :D

1D is released a few weeks before Avicii sadly so they'll go to #1 with ease :( Bad decision to hold Avicii back until the 11th of August, people clearly want it now.

 

John Newman will get 3 weeks at #1 followed by 1D getting a week, then something else will probably come along for 2 weeks before Avicii finally gets released and inevitably goes to #1

That would be great :wub: Hopefully the British public will have enough taste to send Avicii to #1 with sales of 150k+

I do hope the release date for 'Wake Me Up' is brought forward otherwise there will be so many lost sales. Like the Music Week article said about 50k of fake 'I Love It' sales, and the possibility of Icona Pop already being on 300k had it been around for the last 5/6 weeks.

 

This whole strategy of holding back new releases in the UK just encourages illegal downloading imo. I still don't understand why, when we're fully in the digital era, songs are released in the UK usually later than the majority of other countries. -_-

I guess now would be an ideal time to purchase 'Gentleman'. Although I guess I could wait until it's inevitably decreased in price.

Is it definitely #11? It still says #10 for me.
