The Bad Romance video is Lady Gaga dancing and posing in different costumes. That's it. Nothing special at all. If a male singer did that video none of you would've looked twice.

No it isn't, it's actually a concept. :manson:

It's about her being kidnapped by the mafia and sold as a sex slave.

Do you realise how much you're playing people as stereotypes when you don't know them? I would certainly look twice if that was a male artist and I love Bad Romance. Think about what you're saying.

A*M*E - Heartless - DNC

Avicii - Wake Me Up - #1

Avril Lavigne - Here's To Never Growing Up - #12

Breach - Jack - #7

Selena Gomez - Come & Get It - #8

(and not to mention K Koke, Lucy Spraggan and (HOPEFULLY) CHVRCHES might also go top 40)

I do hope CHVRCHES can go top 40 with 'Gun'. I heard it for the first time a day or so ago and I love it! I hope the Radio 1 playlisting helped it. Although I'm doubtful. :(

Breach will end up at least #3. I still think it's gonna go to #2 though. :puke:

What's his comment got to do with stereotyping, anyone? :\ (It was just an observation and I don't think he meant it in the way you took it)

Well, Eric is suggesting that most of Buzzjack won't give an artist the time of day if they're male! I suppose the stereotype Griff is picking up on here is "Buzzjack members only like female artists", which is of course a massive generalisation.

I have noticed in recent times that Buzzjack members are bigger fans of male artists now than when I first joined the site. People like Justin Timberlake, Kanye West and even One Direction have a following on here. So the stereotype that Buzzjackers only like females who make pure pop music is wrong, probably helped by the fact that the charts now have a wider range of genres than it did in 2009/10.

Well, yes ok. But Eric didn't deserve to be jumped on quite that badly when EVERYONE knows (and it's always said on this site - so why hasn't he attacked (for lack of a better word - sorry) anyone else for saying similar sort of things?) the general stereotype of Buzzjack is Female artists >>..>> Male Artists  You just need to look at these "Record of the Decade" rounds as well as "Favourite artists/albums" to know why this site has this stereotype.

EDIT: Therm, I agree more people still like male artists on here but tbh, that's because there's only Rihanna and The Saturdays left at the moment. All the main, female artists are "on a break" So of course, the charts are filled with more male dominated songs so Buzzjack have no choice

Bounce  A mess.

Hopefully it did well enough during the week to secure Iggy her second top 20 though, it was never getting in the top 10 so I could care less if it's #11 or #19 now tbh... they need to learn not to take 3 months to put out an unknown artist's song without even bothering to go hard on promotion during the release week

It's sort of doing exactly what 'Gentleman' did last week. :(

I don't think Griff's comment was an attack at all tbh. I thought he was politely raising a fair point in response to a rather ludicrous post!

Beyond the "if a male singer did it..." statement, I assume Eric hasn't watched the video in a very long time if all he remembers from it is "dancing and posing". :kink:

Thank you.

I just don't like the attitude that all of Buzzjack solely cares about female artists when that's far from the truth. The Record Of The Decade rounds are always rather varied as well. Eric has also displayed this attitude in the past and it would irritate me if anyone did it.

If it wasn't intended that way, I'll apologise to Griffy. But I can't see how it wasn't tbh. (Oh and "attack" was too strong a word - I agree. But I couldn't think of another word)

It wasn't a personal attack. I'm not prejudiced regarding Eric in any way. :P

Thank you.

TBF though, this site kind of embraces the stereotype. We always have done. In a very tongue-in-cheek sort of way and Eric's sarcasm/sense of humour gets mis-judged ALL the time, so I thought that's what he meant and I did think your post was rude, mainly because as I said, it's said/insinuated a lot of the time here on BJ so Eric wasn't really doing anything much different from the norm.

(I do agree in that the forum does seem to be growing on their male artists more though.)

C'mon, its hardly as if its an offensive stereotype. Sure, it may be a generalisation but a non-offensive one at that. It is true, female artists are more popular on this site, deal with it.

(for the record I strongly disagree with Eric's point, 'Bad Romance' would have been even more unexpected from a male artist and would therefore get much attention)

Thank you.

Tbh this is what I thought a few months back. Im glad you brought this up Griff.

There's a difference between being sarcastic and being an obnoxious arse.

Also, I feel it's necessary to implore you to skip to 3:05 here.

HA! That's amazing. I love it when other artists re-create big music videos. The only case which I didn't like it was The Wanted's 'Walks Like Rihanna'. But I think that's more down to me thinking, they think they're better than the bands they mimic/spoof.

EDIT: Justin up to #38 :D

What kind of troll is this!?

Off the back of her biggest global tour and 8 million(?) selling album she was still relevant at the end of her last era i think.

Roughly 6 million, actually. Still huge, of course.
