61. Justin Timberlake - Take Back the Night

Great to see this doing well. Hopefully it goes top 40 sometime today

Gaga's lead single will most likely go top 10/top 5 on pre-order when it's available, and open with 150k+ sales. Mark my words for next month. The QUEEN is back :whip:

bye

IDK, I don't watch many videos. Besides, I don't see how iconic means original.

I never said it. I even stated that I don't think the SL music video was original because the chereography was copied. I'm sure that if you dressed three women in black leotards with the middle one with a robotic hand and/or doing the choreography, everyone would know it is 'Single Ladies'. In my opinion, there's nothing about the 'Bad Romance' video that makes it in anyway iconic (maybe for her fans due to the Monster thing but I'm talking about in general).

I hope so.

A relatively big week for new releases this coming week:

A*M*E – Heartless DNC

Avicii ft. Aloe Blacc – Wake Me Up #1

Avril Lavigne – Here’s To Never Growing Up #34

Breach – Jack #2

Selena Gomez – Come & Get It #13

No, I meant the video. I fail to see how it's in any way iconic from what I remember of it.

Yes! It's just a black and white video of her and some dancers 'dancing' like constipated ducks. What's so good about it?

The song is the worst song EVER as well. :puke2:

A*M*E – Heartless - not top 100

Avicii ft. Aloe Blacc – Wake Me Up - #1

Avril Lavigne – Here’s To Never Growing Up - #19

Breach – Jack #3

Selena Gomez – Come & Get It #7

I think.

Love the song but I agree. Plenty of people have videos of them dancing and they aren't 'iconic' :/

The relative simplicity of the 'Single Ladies' video is what made it stand out majorly. Yes, it's just Beyoncé with 2 back up dancers performing a dance routine, shot in black and white. On paper that sounds forgettable, but in fact it's what makes it so memorable. The fact this is even being discussed 5 years on is a strong indication of that. It also became something of a YouTube phenomenon, with numerous copies & parodies being uploaded on a daily basis - that helped to solidify its iconic status. Love or hate it, it is iconic - not only in terms of Beyoncé videos, but in music video history. It'll be remembered and discussed for many years to come.

'Bad Romance' - unlike 'Single Ladies', Gaga threw in everything but the k-itchen* sink into that video, and it was such an event because of it. It's Gaga at her peak, immortalised in music video form. Perhaps there's no specific look or section of that video which is separately iconic, but as an overall piece of work, it is.

As for the songs - I love them both. Two of my favourites from the 2000s decade.

* Lol at the word filter.

A*M*E - Heartless - DNC

Avicii - Wake Me Up - #1

Avril Lavigne - Here's To Never Growing Up - #12

Breach - Jack - #7

Selena Gomez - Come & Get It - #8

(and not to mention K Koke, Lucy Spraggan and (HOPEFULLY) CHVRCHES might also go top 40)

Avril would be very lucky to go top 40. Mark my words.

It would be hilarious if she did - but she won't miss the top 20 sadly. Pre-orders don't just *disappear* like that

I tried to edit that out hastily!

A*M*E predicted to not chart? :( I know it has had little support, but I'm hopeful it at least achieves a chart position, even a low one. As much as I'd like to see Avril achieve some success, I'm not feeling as confident for her as some of your positions suggest you are. Hopefully Top 30 at least.

I think Avril could replicate what 'Your Body' did and go top 20.

It's a shame it's not gonna do better, it's a strong catchy pop song and it's like a much superior version of 'We Are Never Getting Back Together' which actually did well.

The Bad Romance video is Lady Gaga dancing and posing in different costumes. That's it. Nothing special at all. If a male singer did that video none of you would've looked twice.

Avril's song reminds me of Complicated a bit, although the chorus isn't as strong imo.

If a male singer had done that video, I would have been *astounded*! It would have been incredibly camp, for starters.
