On July 21st, Diana Vickers will release 'Cinderella' as the first single from her upcoming second album 'Music To Make Boys Cry' which is being released on the independent record label So Recordings. It is the X Factor semi-finalist's first release since 2010 when Diana achieved a number-one single with 'Once', a number-one album with 'Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree' and two further top 40 singles with 'The Boy Who Murdered Love' and 'My Wicked Heart'.

 

The 'Cinderella' single pre-order peaked at around #220 on iTunes back in April and has made a brief reappearance in the iTunes top 1500 over the last week following a radio tour and a small Twitter competition. Where do you think 'Cinderella' will chart when it is released in a couple of weeks? If it can reach the top 75, I think that would be a fantastic achievement for a song with very limited airplay but I think top 75 is still a realistic target too! And of course, I would want this to reach #1! :kink:

I think top 75 (mid week top 40 - I think she'll peak around #33 on iTunes, before "falling at a comical rate" Wednesday morning), it's doing decently on pre-orders, but I honestly can't see this doing anything beyond the hardcore fans, so it's not going to help.

 

I "want" top 200. It's so, so weak. I was bored of it before I even properly got into it. It's strange. Should be so much stronger, but I can't help but feel disappointment everytime I hear it. Such a shame as her debut was so, SO good.
