Disturbia is not generic lol! When it came out it was edgey and dark and different!

Also, is that Jack song about jacking off? If so, it is a bit cringe!

People including myself always complain when record companies hold back releases for months in the UK but you can't blame them! Look at the response they get by holding tracks back - Avicci is going to challenge the 200k sales barrier and Selena and Avril are going to have bigger hits than they would have had they released months ago.

I think the pre-orders helped them too, without pre-orders who knows if they still could be so high.

It's going to happen, isn't it :( If it wasn't for the shock factor of "omg Miley Cyrus is twerking in her video" the song wouldn't be having this much hype.

Sex sells = True fact

Who keeps making up these new words?

One week until One Direction's 'Best Song Ever' is released!! :cheer:

3.5 minutes of silence, then... :P

Professor Green is coming out next week as well.

What is this? 'Tempt me into making obvious, corny jokes' week? :)

This is actually amazing. Sales haven't been THIS good since 2000, congratulations to Avicii for making the first "standard" song that sold over 200k in its first week for many years!

Or maybe you could JUST not make them.

Or maybe you could JUST not make them.

But if I don't release them, I fear I might explode like a sealed-off pressure cooker... :P

Double post. Nope, I don't know how either.

I said 1:01am and was close :P

I also predicted 200k and think he'll do it :P

SUrprised the Gomez is top 10 already, that wa sfaster than John Newman, saviour of chart music, and the Sats!

Amazed to see Selena top 10 already

I never thought it'd happen

Avicii slaying all your faves :cheer: That lead is quite amazing, I'm so happy that Avicii could potentially sell 200k in one week!

However, Selena already in the top 10 is not good to see

errr... woah, now that's a huge lead, that lead is just going to increase more and more as the day goes by. Easily 200k for the week or else I change my display name to Shirley.
What? How is Avril so high! This new pre-order single thing on iTunes is going to be hugely beneficial for certain 'held back for a very long time' songs to get a much higher peak than they would have otherwise, before dropping like a bomb in the second week. Record companies have finally found an effective way round manipulating iTunes to ensure high chart debuts.

Well I like the song.

At a significant risk, though : piracy, fake covers, and simple boredom...

Pre-order singles are not in any way 'new', the only thing that's new about them is appearing in the feed (and even that's been happening for nearly a year now) :P It's not really any different to an EP pre-order beyond the first few days, if a held-back song is going to be a big hit then it will climb very quickly anyway - look at 'La La La' and 'Love Me Again' entering in the top 200 more or less immediately despite having no single pre-orders for example.

1. Avicii 1.00

2. Robin 0.37

Absolutely massive lead for Avicii already! :o

New Daft Punk! Well deserved, amazing song!

I would imagine Avril netted per orders from her Tv performance the other week? I doubt it will go top ten.

 8. Come & Get It - Selena Gomez

 11. Here's To Never Growing Up - Avril Lavigne

 14. Jack - Breach

 36. Lighthouse - Lucy Spraggan

 43. My Time (feat. Bridget Kelly) - K Koke

 69. Zimma Frame (Radio Edit) - Show N Prove

 261. Heartless - A*M*E

 296. Gun - CHVRCHES

I hope Breach can start climbing a bit quicker soon - I guess it's still early and there's usually a massive update a little bit later. Still think he'll get the second highest new entry come the end of the week.

Gwon CHVRCHES. Not doing too awfully, I will be fairly pleased if 'Gun' can at least outpeak 'Recover' (i.e. #90 or higher).

I do think it has an effect though through appearing in the feed. Avicii will have gained thousands of extra pre-orders from people noticing it whilst browsing the top 100 on iTunes. The added instant visibility to consumers in the upper reaches of the chart on the first few hours of release won't hurt either!
I purchased 'Gun' earlier this morning. I would very much like this to go top 40, but I doubt it. :(
