Posted July 15, 201312 yr Ariana Grande has just announced that the second single from her upcoming first album will be 'Baby I'. It is the follow up to 'The Way' which reached the top 10 in the US. Ariana tweeted the following along with the image below. My new single "Baby I" from my debut album comes out in 7 days, July 22nd. #7DaysUntilBabyI I loved 'The Way' so I hope this is just as good!
July 17, 201312 yr So I heard a clip and it's very 2002 Ashanti meets Mariah "Fantasy" in my opinion.
July 19, 201311 yr Author Here is a teaser of the song along with the artwork! http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mq51y18cwF1rbdm12o1_1374161690_cover.jpg
July 19, 201311 yr Sounds so good, it might be a bit dated but I'm loving the whole R&B throwback sound, this seems like it could be better than The Way potentially!
July 19, 201311 yr I'm sorry but she sounds ridiculously like Mariah Carey in that clip I thought it was actually Mariah at one point :o She's a good singer but she needs to find her own identity that will make her stand out and not come across so copycat. July 22, 201311 yr It's just basically Ashanti circa 2002 crossed with Dreamlover-esque Mariah Carey so nothing original at all, but I'm really liking it on first listen! Nowhere near as good as The Way mind. 4QkbfSPPUX0
July 22, 201311 yr I like it a lot. She needs material as killer as her voice, but for now this will do nicely. #3 on itunes already!
July 22, 201311 yr Was sold by the end. Not as good as "The Way" but perhaps a bit more instant with the former being a massive grower.
July 22, 201311 yr This is an instant classic for me, it took me about 2 months to get into "The Way", but then I got uber uber obsessed, I'm obsessed with this on first listen. I just hope she keeps some of the material from "Daydreamin'", songs like "Daydreamin'" and "Put Your Hearts Up" are very very good.
July 22, 201311 yr I love how unique her inspirations are. It's clear that she's a fan of late 90's Mariah and early 00's R&B in general (Ashanti, Aaliyah etc..) it's nice to hear someone heading for this sound as opposed to copying sounds and following the trends of dance-pop and everything. I still have a little bit of hope that 'The Way' gets pushed big over here.
October 17, 20213 yr How RANDOM! I kind of live for what Tik tok can do for songs, especially those that deserved more.
