I thought she started well and I had high hopes but there are still way too many mistakes and inane chat that I can't bear listening to radio 1, it's like no one takes the chart seriously any more. If only we could go back to the good old days of Mark Goodier, and when he was away Scott Mills, given us facts and building up to the new entries and not going on about texts from people saying they want musicians to get to number 1 because they are 'fit' or 'hot'...sorry mini rant over
The worst part of the show remains the final hour but that is a result of the format rather than the presenter. Setting aside a full hour for the top ten means that they have a lot of time to fill and they end up filling it with some rubbish at times. The features on the compilation of the chart in the first few weeks were good but now we are back to bad interviews.

Horrific. I liked Reggie Yates' presenting style as well.

They should get someone like Matt Edmondson to do the chart instead of her, she was more in her comfort zone doing the request show. Scott Mills won't do the chart show because funnily enough, no one in their right mind would give up a presenting role that has much more listeners.

I picked "Excellent", she makes it really enjoyable to listen to, can't compare to Reggie as I only heard one show of his but I'm loving Jameela.

She does, at least, seem to have enthusiasm and passion for the charts, unlike Reggie who completely viewed it as a chat show. She also seems to have a fairly diverse taste in music, which doesn't lead to her criticising the same tracks again and again. That said, the bloopers and mistakes are starting to show more these days, its not always her fault, more the format. Take 3 in particular needs to go (and I see they didn't do it this week )

She can be fairly irritating, the amount of times she says 'RIDICULOUS'! Argh!

Yes the silly mistakes are grating - the facts she cocks up are from her own show! Sack her researchers I say. She does make me laugh sometimes though, so I think she is doing ok.

C-, must try harder.

I shall just repeat most of what I posted in the Chart Show thread...

If you ask any newsreader (from any channel) about the bulletin they have just read, I'm sure they would have forgotten a large part of it. They simply read what is in front of them and a lot of it never really enters their conscious mind. For a perfect demonstration of that, look at Chris Morris's brilliant Brass Eye programmes where a string of celebrities read out utter garbage because they believed they were supporting a good cause.

I thinks she's alright thing about radio 1 was it used to be full of presenters and passionate music djs but now the 'presenters' are taking over people like her, fearne cotton & Greg James are all presenters but don't really have a passion for music in the way Steve lamack, Jo Wiley and Mark & Lard did they are just cool and fashionable presenters who know enough about current music to get by!

She is always criticising Pitbull and Daivd Guetta.

She criticised Carly Rae's newest song which I really like and she criticises PLayd Hard pretty much every week

I like her. She makes mistakes which are glaringly obvious, but she has quite a quirky personality which is enjoyable to listen to. Anything is better than Jk and Joel or that oaf Reggie.

I think Jameela started off ok, but has fallen downhill slightly. I wish I could have the days of Mark Goodier back when the show was presented to music fans, not teenage girls who want their obsessive 'One Direction are the best' text read out. Even Wes wasn't a bad listen to a certain extent, he was quite humorous and had some good chart facts plus the production team was very good! I think the reason he was disliked was because he followed Mark Goodier - a legendary chart show presenter.

I do agree with others about the last hour, it does drag on. I don't see why the cant visualise the entire show like they do Dan & Phil as this will allow the show to take its own pace & have the guests appear near to where their track is charting, not way after. The silly mistakes have been a problem on the show for a few years now, so it maybe the lack of caring or understanding from the production team, in which case they should be shown the door as there are many fighting & willing to work hard for a role on the production team at Radio 1.

I wish she wouldn't repeat the same jokes week in week out e.g. the Goat version of a Taylor Swift song or Nelly still can't pronounce Porshe, etc....... and don't diss songs you don't like. You as a presenter may not like Play Hard, but to the audience who have probably bought the song & think it's amazing it seems a bit intimmidating. It feels like I've been told off by your mother for buying a gobstopper at the shops instead of a packet of Jelly Tots. Anyway that's my opinion.

I think she does a good job... But I agree that they need to axe 'take three'.
I would say about average, she started off well, but the show is slightly going a bit downhill, still the odd silly errors and on some weeks the odd track does not get played. I think the only gripe I've got about the show is when there is One Big Weekend, and the show is cut down to an hour when there are decent new entries that week.

She's dead right about all that to be honest.

What?! I would assume that more people would want to hear decent performances.

Fearne Cotton may talk about other things such as fashion and celebrities but she definitely does have a passion for music which comes across very well.

My biggest problem with her is not the format, it's her general approach to presenting, which is fine for Radio 1 in general, but not formal enough for the chart show. I don't expect anyone to do it in the old Bruno/Mark style any more, but at least Scott Mills gets it more or less right.

The format though too is stupid, with the first two hours being non-stop music which is great, and then the last hour being too chatty.
