Actually, The Velvet Underground & Nico eventually charted in 2002 (which I think was when the first deluxe edition came out). It peaked at 59.

The other three studio albums have never made the Top 75 (not that it was a Top 75 when they were released of course).

I bet their albums - especially The Velvet Underground & Nico - have sold quite a lot since their original release though. Hopefully MusicWeek will go into detail next Monday.

It's not a live album though, it's a remix album. Their first one of those peaked at 3, although I would expect this to do less well.

I wasn't very clear before but I know it's not a live album. And Reanimation was off the back of Hybrid Theory and its single (Pts.of.Athrty) did a lot better than "A Light That Never Comes" so I wasn't expecting Recharged to go top 10, let alone top 3.

New albums top 200:

153. No Blues - Los Campesinos!

They're gonna get their lowest charting album ever. </3 I can't believe their highest is also their worst, too, and will probably remain like that forever.

Pre-orders top 200:

1. The Marshall Mathers LP2 (Deluxe) - Eminem

8. Midnight Memories (Deluxe) - One Direction

17. ARTPOP - Lady Gaga

20. James Arthur (Deluxe) - James Arthur

42. Demonstration - Tinie Tempah

67. Did You Hear the Rain? - EP - George Ezra

79. 5 AM - EP - Katy B

91. Shangri La - Jake Bugg

159. James Arthur - James Arthur

185. Sail Out - Jhene Aiko

198. Word of Mouth (Deluxe Version) - The Wanted

199. Avril Lavigne - Avril Lavigne

Eminem's album isn't out until Tuesday according to iTunes but I think he'll still take #1 quite easily. Would be his 7th #1 album in a row, just one off matching the all time record by Led Zeppelin :o James Arthur and Tinie Tempah should complete an all new top 3 (good to see 'Demonstration' has climbed quite a bit since the release of 'Children Of The Sun').

Impressed at how well Katy B's EP is doing, maybe a return to the top 10 for her? Should definitely outperform 'What Love Is Made Of' at least.

The Live Lounge album is now up to #2, expected that to overtake Arcade Fire and Lorde quite quickly. They're still #3 and #4 respectively, holding up quite well so far!

Eminem's albums have been released any day other than Monday quite a few times in the past - I'm sure one was released on a Thursday/Friday yet still managed 200k+ or something crazy like that! I agree The Marshall Mathers LP2 will make #1 too, surely over 100k, right?

Pleased to see the '5 AM' EP doing do well! :D This needs to be a hit to save the era and thankfully it looks like it will be.

Not sure if Eminem will make 100k sales, esp if its released next tuesday. Hopefully around 75k!! Really albums should be just released on a Sunday from next year, give them a chance.

Thought the Jake Bugg newbie would be higher on preorders as his last material has taken off this year!!

Could someone post an update on how the Mercury Prize nominees are doing? LivePopBars doesn't seem to be working with me.

Hoping 'Overgrown' can go at least top 10 on iTunes after James' win  The perfect winner, can't believe it's happened.
Oh so he won? I presumed it would be an un-established since that usually happens but I thought it would have been Foals or Laura Mvula

It can't have been an un-established artist as there weren't any this year  Apart from Savages I suppose but they never had a chance. James is at least a more interesting winner than one of the many big #1 albums that got nominated (although still a top 10 album).
I mean someone who's not that 'big' (as far as these acts go) so anyone other than David Bowie, Arctic Monkeys, Rudimental, Jake Bugg and Disclosure. Perhaps "un-established" isn't the 'word' to use.
Really wanted James Arthur to get the Number 1 Album as I've listened o his album and it's really good but I think he will have to settle for number 2 next week behind Eminem .
'Overgrown' up to #9

UP TO #7

Recovery was released on a Tuesday, sold 140,000 in its first week

Pretty impressive & LTWYL was only building as it was released although we are in a different climate now for albums - maybe he will push 100k since its November?!

Lorde has climbed back up to #3, so now the highest album that's currently in the official chart (behind a pre-order and a various artists compilation)! :o 'AM' is up to #4 ahead of Arcade Fire also. Lorde definitely seems to be a lot more download-dependent than the other new releases this week.

Tinie's album pre-order now ahead of James' (#18 and #30 respectively) :D Still think James will probably be #2 next week though.

Album sales have gotten worse since then, but he's releasing in Q4 rather than summer. I wouldn't be surprised if he does similar numbers. :)
