August 29, 201312 yr Shane will drop and unless his phyisical sales really stand up and ep sales he will drop to low top 20 as his download sales are appearing very low.
August 29, 201312 yr Shame that Loving You is on its way to out of top 40 but let's be honest it's still 15 places higher than most people thought it'd reach I expected a #72 smash at best so I'm disappointed its dropped so much but still over the moon Mel managed Top 40 in the first place let alone spend 2 weeks in it :kink: Hoping Naughty Boy can grab the #1 album - Not really a fan but bought it after loving 'La La La' and then hearing the Bastille track and I have to say its a brilliant album!
August 30, 201312 yr Midweek Charts update: Goulding aiming for longest 2013 No 1 run by Brit Source: MW by Paul Willams Ellie Goulding looks poised to achieve the longest No 1 run by a Brit on the UK singles chart this year as Burn heads for three weeks at the top. The Polydor single, which achieved its second week in charge last Sunday, continues to have a narrow lead at the head of the midweek singles chart and should secure a third week at No 1 this coming weekend, according to Official Charts Company data. If it does it will outright make it the longest-running No 1 by a domestic artist in 2013, overtaking Ministry of Sound act Duke Dumont featuring A*M*E's I Need U (100 Percent), which spent a fortnight at the top in April. James Arthur's Syco debut Impossible was also No 1 for two weeks at the start of the year having previously been No 1 for a week last December before being replaced by Justice Collective's Metropolis-issued He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother. Burn's biggest rival for this Sunday's No 1 continues to be Positiva/PRMD act Avicii's Wake Me Up, which remains at No 2 on the midweeks as the Island single Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine) by Klangkarussell featuring Will Heard holds at 3. Lana Del Rey's Polydor single Summertime Sadness with Cedric Gervais gains a place to 4 as RCA act Miley Cyrus climbs 6-5 with We Can't Stop, while Rizzle Kicks' brand new Island track Lost Generation currently registers as a new entry at 6. On artist albums California rock band Avenged Sevenfold are still leading with their newly-issued Warner Bros effort Hail To The King around 3,000 sales ahead of Naughty Boy's brand new Virgin debut Hotel Cabana at No 2. An exanded version of Ellie Goulding's Halcyon out this week helps to lift the Polydor album 26-3 as Britain's Got Talent duo Richard & Adam's Syco debut The Impossible Dream falls to 4 after four weeks at No 1. Directly below it are three brand new entries from Columbia's Bob Dylan, Domino signings Franz Ferdinand and Ugly Truth/RCA's Newton Faulkner. August 30, 201312 yr Author The singles chart on the MW database was rather interesting all the tracks were a bit muddled up, Shane Filan Applause, now that would have been rather hilarious
August 30, 201312 yr Not surprised Shane has dropped out the top 10, I think he could end up at 13/14 by Sunday and crash out the top 40 next week! Good to see Lana climb though I doubt this will be the case by Sunday, other wise theres not a lot else to say about the singles chart, hope Bastille stay top 40 Franz Ferdinand holding up better than expected but I thought they could stay top 5, I hope they don't leave the top 10! I think Naughty Boy will end up at 2 now which would be a good result. Disclosure beat QOTSA on the Friday update and I was hoping NB would do the same but its still looking close so maybe it could still happen
August 30, 201312 yr Looks like Franz Ferdinand are going to miss out on top five, hopefully Bob Dylan will hold on to that top 5 position
August 30, 201312 yr Come on Naughty Boy! Would much rather see an album that we'll actually remember down the line grab the #1. Rizzle Kicks out of the T5 is pleasing to see, though Miley's 1-3-6-5 chart run makes it look like the VMAs boosted it; when I doubt they did anything.
August 30, 201312 yr 31 + 6 Oh no I've run out of fingers and toes to count on  Edited August 30, 201312 yr by sammy01
August 30, 201312 yr Author Avicii's chart run is amazing 1-1-1-2-2-2-2 if it remains at #2 for a 4th week, surprisingly he could have had 7 weeks at #1 :o Anyhow we have lost Rudimental/Foxes, P!nk, Bruno Mars, Jessie J, Taylor Swift (thank god for that) and Fuse ODG. Matt Cardle and Melanie C the biggest fallers of the week, position as above. In the albums looks like Avenged Sevenfold are heading for the top spot, it still looks pretty tight though, Naughty Boy could close the gap over the weekend, I'm just guessing most shoppers would buy his album more than AS. Travis is the biggest faller of the week, position as above.
August 30, 201312 yr Drake top 10 :D Looks set to outpeak 'Take Care', becoming his highest peaker as lead artist. It's grown on me loads but still not quite his best, but I won't complain ('Take Care' wasn't his best either, my favourite of his singles is probably 'Over'). Great to see The 1975 still comfortably top 30 and 'Same Love' in a good position considering it's only been high up on iTunes for a few days! Avenged Sevenfold still looking set for the #1 album as well, boo at Richard & Adam climbing back up to #4 but kinda expected, don't think they'll reclimb any higher. I see Stereophonics' 'Best Of' album has been taken off the budget chart again, wonder if it'll be for more than one week this time :P It seems it would have had quite an impressive chart run in 2013 if it was allowed to chart but as it stands it only has 4 weeks in the low top 100 from before 'Graffiti On The Train' came out and a week at #21 when they previously decided to take it off budget.
August 30, 201312 yr The gap only closing by 600 in two days suggests that 1) A7X will hold on even with weekend purchases and 2) sales are pitiful. If they can get close to "Nightmare"'s opening total it'd be a good show but it really shows the lack of interest in Emeli Sandé Naughty Boy if he can't even sell 20k in a week after the number of hits he's had. Definitely not doing a Calvin Harris.
August 30, 201312 yr The singles chart on the MW database was rather interesting all the tracks were a bit muddled up, Shane Filan Applause, now that would have been rather hilarious  I bet Chasing Cars can't be far short of the T40?
August 30, 201312 yr Looks like Matt and Mel will only make one week top 40 then :( The UK is so rubbish sometimes.
August 30, 201312 yr Looks like Matt and Mel will only make one week top 40 then :( The UK is so rubbish sometimes. Its airplay is radio 2 based & it was held back a long time so it was always going to be a 2 week top 40 with high new entry status. It still extends both artists top 40 history though :)!!! Shane Filan will be the same next week!
