Will YM@6 be the highest peaker on the iTunes chart to miss the top 10 officially? I know Ke$ha's 'Blah Blah Blah' peaked at #3 on iTunes but made #11 officially.

I think there may have been some which made number one on iTunes but missed the Top 10 (Friday released songs, of course). It seems to ring a bell but I haven't a clue what the song could have been.

Should be an interesting update today, hope Katy's sales are still impressive, if they are around 170k+ today, she should break 200k by the end of the week quite easily.

Is that 29k for 2 days  that's 14.5k per day
thought Kitty Purry would have higher sales than that considering the lead on itunes

I meant to add between 165k & 180k although it might push to 190 at a stretch :P

Midweek Charts update: Perry claims best UK sales of career

Source: MW

by Paul Willams

Roar has already clocked up Katy Perry's highest weekly UK sales with two days of trading still to go.

The Virgin single, whose UK release was brought forward a week, had sold 131,745 copies up to the end of trading on Thursday, according to the Official Charts Company. That already beats Perry's previous best UK sales tally of 123,607 achieved by California Gurls featuring Snoop Dogg in June 2010 with the total set to go much higher as Friday and Saturday trading still needs to be factored in.

Roar's place at the top of the latest midweeks means last Sunday's top four all shuffle down a place with Polydor act Ellie Goulding's Burn moving 1-2, Postiva/PRMD single Wake Me Up by Avicii dropping 2-3, the Island-issued Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine) by Klangkarussell featuring Will Heard slipping 3-4 and Polydor act Lana Del Rey's Summertime Sadness with Cedric Gervais down 4-5. Cash Money/Republic's Drake completes the latest top five with Hold On We're Coming Home featuring Majid Jordan up 9-6.

Universal presently has the entire top seven songs on the midweek singles chart, while controls six of the seven leading titles on midweek artist albums, including a top three made up entirely of brand new releases. Dirty Hit/Polydor act The 1975's self-titled debut is at No 1 with sales beating combined its two main rivals: Ninch Inch Nails with their Polydor-issued Hesitation Marks at 2 and Island's Rizzle Kicks new at 3 with Roaring 20s.

Polydor act Ellie Goulding drops 3-5 with Halycon, while the top five's only non-Universal release is Sony's Richard & Adam whose The Impossible Dream holds at 4. Universal's other Top 10 albums are Virgin act Naughty Boy's Hotel Cabana, which drops 2-6, and Republic/Island act Ariana Grande's Yours Truly, which is new at 7.

Lady Gaga is a non mover

Emeli Sande is down to #36, she should be out of the 40 by Sunday, so I imagine whatever is at #41 could end up top 40.

The following tracks have left the top 40 from last week Shane Filan, Disclosure, The Wanted, The 1975, Macklmore/Ryan Lewis/Ray Dalton, Matt Cardle/Mel C and Jason Derulo.

And the biggest falling album is Bob Dylan down to #39, mind you Franz Ferdinand is down to #33 and Newton Faulkner down to #37.

Is Things We Lost in the Fire still in the Top 40 or has it dropped out?

#40, it should keep ahead of Emeli Sande as she is rapidly falling out of the 40, so it could just hold on.

MKS should sneak in by Sunday knocking either Emeli or Bastille out. Hopefully the former as TWLITF is really good :)

I'm not so sure with MKS, I would say more of a Top 50-75 hit "ducks from flying pans"

They are 17 on iTunes and have Alan Carr tonight so I think they will come in at low top 40. Kylie managed 31 with Timebomb on a Friday release so I don't see why they'll miss out. Unless they suddenly slip today and Carr doesn't help then I'd think the same as you :P

Not much sales info there. Katy only on 132k after selling so many by Tuesday?? Pre orders really do enhance the first mid weeks dont they, hopefully shell do around 180k by Sunday!!
Drake coming for that top 5 :cheer: Arctic Monkeys back in the top 25 x2 as well hooray. Would say it's not great that 'Do I Wanna Know?' is back ahead already but that's mainly because of the iTunes pre-order of 'AM' so it's quite misleading. 'Strong' still holding at #17 and now top 20 on iTunes, really crossing my fingers for it to hold top 20.
