Yup!!

I hope Miley Cyrus can get a second no.1. A Miley Cyrus-Elie Goulding-Katy Perry-Miley Cyrus- Lady GaGa no.1 chart run would be the best of all time, even better than the 1-runners of 2000 when really good songs would follow each other. Still can't believe Hannah Montana is getting top 10s though in 2013 haha!

Are you still insisting that GaGa is going to get #1?

Drake at #2 :o I agree with Eric, the mainstream music scene is far more Drake-friendly than it was a few years ago. A few years ago (even 1 year ago) a lot of urban artists were selling out and recording electro-pop (Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Kelly Rowland) but now they've moved back to old-school R&B because EDM is on its way out and other genres are coming back.
Yup!!

Is Wrecking Ball only been played for the first time this week & released sunday?

It won't have any effect whatsoever, but Imagine Dragons were in the live lounge today. Hope they performed 'It's Time'! Not sure what cover they did just yet either!

lol. I think maybe he's expecting a new song of hers to get released by then.

Yes at Wrecking Ball getting released on Sunday. Hopefully it has a lengthy chart run and knocks WCS out of the top 10 in the process :D
Can Arcade Fire enter the Top 20 now please? MOVE WAND ERECTION

Not that it will get to #1 but I actually think if she releases Sex Dreams fairly soonish, it could outperform Applause.

Lack of continuity? It's going to be a bit stupid though, since in the future people are going to look and see Hold On charting really high and think it's his biggest song, when really all this means is that the iTunes crowd are hearing it on Capital FM.

That'd be because, in chart terms, it IS his biggest song (highest peaking at least, time will tell if it outsells 'Take Care'). It may not be his most 'significant' song or his most remembered song - but then if something else is more remembered then surely it doesn't matter that the charts don't seem to reflect that because people will remember it anyway :P

What i mean is that for example his next single will most likely chart low or not chart at all.

That's just because radio pick and choose which of Drake's singles they want to support. He is gradually getting bigger in general over time (look how much better 'Started From The Bottom' did compared to the likes of 'Forever', 'Over' and 'Headlines'). Of course his non-rap songs are going to do better because they're his only hope of ever getting played on the majority of radio stations.

I don't understand how Take Care is more radio-friendly than, say, Best I Ever Had or Headlines. Those songs have lots of synths, very strong melodies. Take Care wouldn't have done anything without Rihanna imo.

You're right. But 'Take Care' is an exception, not the rule. That did so much better than other similar songs because it featured Rihanna (see also 'Princess Of China' which really isn't an obvious hit at all if you ignore the fact it's a Rihanna collab), not because it specifically had a more radio-friendly sound. However, 'Find Your Love' and 'Hold On, We're Going Home' clearly are a lot more radio friendly than most of his other singles which have underperformed.

For a split second I thought you were talking about The Saturdays.

The Saturdays wish they could be Drake.

27. Chris Brown - Love More (feat. Nicki Minaj)

I had no idea this was so high. I'm really shocked! :o It's a really good song, and I love the dancing in the music video. :D

Not that we can compare a current song to an older one when talking about which is most remembered. People need to acknowledge it before they remember.

I hope HOWGH makes a big enough impact commercially to help other stripped R&B songs do well. I guess 'We Can't Stop' is rather stripped aswell (insert Miley VMA joke), obviously not as much as HOWGH but the production seems quite minimal.

I'm assuming this is the first CB song you like in a while then :P

I liked Fine China as well. And I actually liked every song on his previous album apart from the two that actually charted. :drama: I really wanted Bassline as a single.

Yup, and if she times it with an X Factor release, Sex Dreams or Swine or unnamed track from the album, smash!!

Maybe I'm missing one out, like Macklemore, if the main stations ever dare play it (doubt it).

Yeah Miley's doing on air-sale I think with Wrecking Ball.

Nicki coming for ANOTHER top 40 hit since it was stated she "will never get another hit" or something similar. :kink:

Yeah, I said she'll never get another top 40 hit, but then High School came along. I'll now change it to "She'll never get another top 30 hit".
