i'd totally forgotten i was once tv mod. what's happened to me :mellow:

I am shocked Jáhq didn't get this (speaking as someone who never uses the Entertainment forums). Pavel aside I don't think I'd actually have predicted any of those to get it (Oliver in particular, ~rising star poster~ and all I know but still seems a tad anonymous to suddenly become a mod of a pretty big part of the site). Congrats to all anyhow.

I wouldn't worry about it in the slightest, I heavily doubt that the majority of the users who applied bothered to enter the gaming forum!

I can see why it would be a worry but please don't worry in the slightest... you got it for good reason and saw potential for areas that others didn't. Plus I just have a gut instinct kinda thing here that you'll turn out to be a good mod.

I remember when I was Reality TV mod. I was shit.

You're all correct that you did indeed have great ideas as to what to do and I can assure you all that is was TOUGH deciding who should be given the positions - I hope any decent ideas you have could still be taken forwards with the current mods anyway if you want to make any suggestions to them.

 

In the end, a large part of the decision was down to attempting to widen the excellent group of mods we currently have. Jáhq, Liam and many others put in decent bids but we really wanted people to have one area to focus on each going forwards and we didn't want other areas to suffer as a result of impetus in the Entertainment section and you guys already have important roles to your names to focus on (similar to Bré being given chart mod, a specific area that plays to his strengths). It was the only way we could split it in the end & fitted with our current thoughts of establishing a strong group who focus on individual sections but work as a whole to ensure that Buzzjack always has things happening to draw posters in... we really would like you all to use the combined mod forum so that you can share ideas with eachother and let all of the mods know current plans for your sections etc.

 

There should be honourable mentions to both Regina and Callum who came extremely close on this occasion and we'd love to see you continue to apply should something else come up anytime soon.

(I should also add that none of us had these exact thoughts in mind prior to applications or naturally we'd have told you at the time)

That said, I totally agree. We had a lot of excellent applications which meant some very good candidates didn't make it. Each time we have invited people to apply for mod positions we have been impressed by the standard of applications. That is not just an Alexander Armstrong type "You've been great contestants", it is true. I'm sure that many of the members who applied will be mods before long.

 

TBH I just read my application back and it's understandable why I didn't get it... I think I started off with good intentions, and a couple of good ideas for the section then just... went off in a tangent and started talking about random shit that wasn't really necessary; there wasn't really any structure to the application either. Just need to try harder next time (if there is a next time). :kink:

 

 

Unfortunately there won't be next time. The current mod team will live and be mods forever. SOZ
