Weaves being snatched, bases being slayed. :o

No wonder Miley and Beyonce trimmed that weave, they knew Mel B was coming :w00t:

Only just saw the "official" release of the new Daft Punk single is next week, while it's currently languishing at #48 on iTunes :( Oh well, as long as they don't care it's not a big deal.

No.89 AWOLNATION - Sail

This song is very popular in Billboard. It released last year.

Okay what's going on with this? First it's suddenly higher than ever in the USA despite having been constantly in the chart for LITERALLY a year and now it's in the UK top 100. Not complaining, I'm surprised this never took off more before and I only support it becoming a minor hit now, but why is it doing so well now and not earlier

60. The Fox - Ylvis

Just 59 more weaves to snatch!!1

92. Holes - Passenger

Surprised to see this even in the top 100. He screams one hit wonder.

Why so much hype over Mel B (with a terrible song, at that)?

That's quite a bit higher than i'd seen it before! Hopefully a top 40 place awaits at some point <3

Probably because we grew up with Mel B (and the Spice Girls) being bigger than God. I personally feel so sentimental towards all the Spice Girls these days after feeling meh towards them between 2002 till they reunited in 2007.

Apart from Mel C there has been no solo music from any of them since the reunion, so personally it is so nice to see Mel B in the charts, the 8 year old me is happy.

I think the general attitude towards the Spice girls, together and solo, has changed much like mine has over the years.

My theory:

AWOLNATION are signed to Red Bull Records, a record label owned by an energy drinks company (its name escapes me). As it is the start of the university season, there will be a lot of Freshers events on. Because energy drinks companies like making a lot of money, and students tend to have lots of money, it makes plenty of sense that said energy drinks companies targets students at said events.

During said events, these energy drinks companies will naturally cross-promote by blasting out songs from their record label in the hopes that these potential consumers enjoy these songs being played, then buys the songs they like. For many people, this will be the first time they will hear SAIL by AWOLNATION. Because as we all know, students have a rubbish taste in music until they get to university, where they discover the coolest bands ever.

It is freshers week now.

Hence by AWOLNATION is doing so well.

Well, it's a theory.

Couldn't have put it better! Nostalgia and just wanting the girls to do well after being a lunatic about them back in the day!

This song has #88 smash written all over it.

What about Sir Mix-A-Lot? Tim Dogg?

They're lame but still not as lame as Juicy J!

Yeah there is the nostalgia factor but also - dare I say it - it's actually a half-decent song too :o

When you think about, it 50 cent is a pretty odd name too, If he was British do you think he'd have been called 50 pence?

I assume you weren't around the internet in 2003. This was all over Kazaa:

Yeah for a mainstream Dance/pop song it is pretty good. The Saturdays could never :teresa:

Mel B #84! :o

What kind of Spice Girls revival this year? And with Geri releasing a new single, that's basically 3 out of 5 Spice top 100 possible appearances this year alone. :o
