Wow really surprised about Jessie J i didn't expect her sales to drop so much :o

 

I was sort of hoping this would be her Young Foolish Happy.

Have some Top 5 sales info Jason Derulo is on 52.7k and KoL on 54.3k, will add the rest to the update.

But all of their albums have sold platinum and MB seems to be the first to have problems achieving that.

 

David Bowie's 2013 release hasn't even gone Platinum yet; he's still a major artist.

 

I think Kings of Leon will go Platinum, giving the time of release; it should still be in the charts come the Christmas sales, so will get good sales in the long run.

You can tell from the performance of the singles that it's going to be frontloaded, though. There's no shame in the decline but I think it's pretty obvious that this album is the start of Kings of Leon fading away. They've had a good run, though.

 

Apart from peaking in their first week their singles aren't exactly evidence of massive frontloading. 'Supersoaker' has a run of 32-44-79-78-81-92-x-95-64-68- and back in the top 40 on the mids, 'Wait For Me' has gone 31-41-57-95-x-75-48-...

 

I do agree it will be frontloaded but not exactly in a 'one good week of sales then out of the chart within a month' way. I think it will manage to go platinum still, albeit not with as much ease as 'Come Around Sundown'.

I think the singles selling poorly is more evidence than the speed at which they've sold. They haven't done well enough to seem like they have had mass appeal, so the album will be more fanbase-oriented and thus more frontloaded.

 

That said the 'Supersoaker' run is beginning to look less and less awful. Would probably be top 20 as a held back release. The decline isn't that extreme, but I do think it's there.

Have Kings of Leon really sold 54k already? :o More than I would've expected based on the first midweek report. If they can get to the 70k that 'Because Of The Times' began with, that would be a pretty solid result.

 

Can't deny I'm pretty shocked at Drake selling so much.

deflated comeback, are going to say this for every artist going :rolleyes: just because they sold buckets with Only By The Night, it doesn't mean they are going to sell that amount again, any other artist can do the same, cough Adele, do you think she can sell more than 3million with her next album.

 

It might take her a few weeks... :P
