i think Kings of Leon will sell 45 k eventually followed by Drake with 37 k and Jessie J with 32 k.

a lot of great new albums out this week. CHVRCHES is already one of my faves of 2013.

Drake surely won't sell more than about 40k? That's not exactly great sales for Kings of Leon if they're only slightly ahead, and they're probably a little more frontloaded too...
Her first album didn't even go top 10 off the back of a much bigger single so there wasn't exactly a huge precedent for this album to do well. Having said that I did think she'd be at least top 5 today before falling to 7-9 on Sunday.

Her first album was released off the back of 'People Help the People' and was released a time when she wasn't particularly hyped. 'Skinny Love' has gotten so much exposure since then that I really did expect a much bigger start for this era. I think it's very likely that it'll end up blowing up due to X Factor or something, though. Birdy for Emeli 2.0.

Jason Derulo's sales must be pretty poor for a 2nd week if Roar is threatening to overtake prob around 75k? Big 2nd week drop.

The album sales must be poor too if KoL arent much ahead of Drake(who could threaten with downloads) - prob less than 50k but the sheer amount of New releases will prob mean the top 10s sales will be decent all above 15k maybe?

As Bre said KoL are still big - theyre single is alisted on radio 1 which will add to the usual fanbase sales!!

You talk out of your arse though, I'd be surprised to see KoL pull out a bigger lead and the fact that Jessie wasn't mentioned as a contender makes me think she's quite a way back from both.

Come on Jessie! Totally looning over her new album - it's 1000% times better than her debut and Amazon MP3 have reduced both the standard and deluxe versions to £4.99 today so hopefully it will pick up extra sales.

er....it does happen all the time!!!! do u think that albums start on Monday with a 10 k lead??? Nope... the margin starts widening as the week progresses therefore what ur saying is majorly untrue... sorry!!!

Assuming that they'll attract proportionate numbers of casual purchasers later in the week, which I think is unlikely. I fear Drake will close the gap.

I would expect the gap to grow (Saturday is still the biggest day for physical sales, isn't it?)

The Wanted, Chris Brown, Le Youth, Linkin Park, Example, Calvin Harris, Jason Derulo and Olly Murs have left the top 40 chart from last week, biggest faller is Christina Perri down to #21. CHVRCHES single is still top 40, only just at #38.

In the albums chart, 7 new albums inside the top 10, Dream Theater will most likely slip out, the biggest album faller is down 19 places for Jack Johnson at #26, and for Manic Street Preachers down to #17.

Drake can hopefully have a bit more longevity than the other competition whether it gets to #1 or not this week (writing that off now but was always quietly confident that he'd put up a good fight which he has). A few more hits still waiting on the album will definitely help towards that.

Kings of Leon seem to be having a deflated comeback, so not surprised by them not doing as well this time around.

7 Macklemore/Lewis/Lambert - Same Thing

Hoping the Perry gets the #1!

deflated comeback, are going to say this for every artist going  just because they sold buckets with Only By The Night, it doesn't mean they are going to sell that amount again, any other artist can do the same, cough Adele, do you think she can sell more than 3million with her next album.

But all of their albums have sold platinum and MB seems to be the first to have problems achieving that.

It's only its first week on the chart though? So I don't get how you can come to that conclusion, especially given that you don't know its first week sales yet either.

Glad 1R's album getting a new peak. :D

You can tell from the performance of the singles that it's going to be frontloaded, though. There's no shame in the decline but I think it's pretty obvious that this album is the start of Kings of Leon fading away. They've had a good run, though.
