As this is finally getting a UK release date I may as well get a thread up and running. The video's had 29 million hits on YouTube, and has been top 10 in 7 countries including Belgium where it has been #1 for 8 weeks. It's also top 100 on UK iTunes as a pre-order as I type.

I'm sure you all know my opinion of this, so what do you guys think of the song? Where will it chart? Is it deserving of being the most hyped club track of 2013?

This is going to be massive, I really don't think there is going to be any escaping this on a night out for the next few months. Think it will be #1 for certain, not that I particularly like it though.

This has been absolutely huge here in Portugal, I think its great actually. Not sure how it'll do in the UK, depends if Radio 1 playlist it or not
They definitely will, it's already doing so well on pre-orders that it can't not go top five here!

it's great and I was mystified how it got such modest votes in BJSC - unless like me it grew on everyone afterwards B-)

Radio 1's policy is to favour UK acts rather than foreign, sometimes as much as 80% to 20%, which is contributing to the British charts being out of step with others and pushing very average or mediocre tracks while ignoring potentially much more popular tracks, so I wouldnt put money on them pushing it much necessarily - in fact huge world hits like Capital Cities these days they often stick on the much more musically varied Radio 2 (who's listeners tend not to buy singles sadly) and they very much avoid overlap of the playlists on purpose between the two.

The difference with Animals and Safe and Sound is that the former is a big dance record (Radio 1 love latching onto these) and it's not radio 2 friendly at all. I'll be very surprised (and annoyed) if radio 1 don't playlist this - but I'm sure they will. They can't ignore the mass hype and pre-orders.

It was Radio 1's Song Of The Day yesterday, so they almost undoubtedly will hammer this. I know this isn't the case with all of their Song Of The Day tracks, but added together with the huge hype this already was, I'll be amazed if they ignore playlisting it.
AMAZING, for me the biggest dance track of the year, definitely sounds like a UK No1 smash! :D

Radio 2 is playlisting dance now: Jessie J's latest, they had Dizzee Rascal on Steve Wright yesterday. As the policy to lower the average age of listeners has failed, all theyve done is lower the number of listeners, (the average age remains stubbornly at 32 as I always said it would) they seem to be targeting 9-year-olds now and acts over 25 being moved onto Radio 2! So, radio 1 caters for the 9 to 18 yearolds and Radio 2 for the 20 to 100 year-old bracket

hopefully you're right about Animals that would be great!

Sorry for the incidental whinge but Radio One's a pet peeve of mine, it wasn't created to gather up teenagers and dictate what they should listen to based on panels and research so they can create their own audience exactly in the rigid image it decides it should be, it was created to reflect what was popular amongst teenagers and older fans of contemporary popular music and give them an outlet. Daytime equalled popular stuff plus a few newies and oldies, evenings the specialist stuff that was building towards a popular breakthrough. Thats the way it worked fine for 40 years, and drew in new listeners to current music but it's more like theyve brought the specialist evening stuff into the daytime audience and then been surprised when listeners opted-out (Including pop-loving target-audience younger ones) At least The Chart Show seems to have taken on board criticisms though, it's stopped talking down to it's listeners lately, hooray!

Yeah Radio 1 are definitely not going to snub this. And I'd be surprised going on how incredible its pre-orders so far if this misses #1, unless there's something enormous in its way that I'm unaware of.

Great song, just missed out on points from me when it was entered to BJSC.

Can't see it going #01 with it being X-Factor season, but I can see it peaking in the top 5 and sticking around for a while.

Dunno. If 2013 has told us one thing, it's not to underestimate big dance songs.

This was everywhere in Ibiza, Kos, Zante, Malia etc. I heard it whilst out abroad, and had no idea what it was until I found it by chance a few months ago. I'd guess thousands of others will be in the same position too.

Thats good news, it means I may get to hear it in 2 weeks in clubs bars (Canaries though). I've been to Malia. I'd like to see it renamed Quadbikeia, or alternatively, Vomitaria for its daytime and night-time-based activities.

I would love to see this go to number one, one of my favourite dance tracks of 2013 without a doubt!!

It will depend on what competition will be that week but I doubt the X Factor season will stop it from doing well though I do wish the record label had given this a bigger push over the summer but its doing great on pre orders so lets hope this will be huge!

I've heard it lot in the UK the past few months, so even people who haven't gone abroad will know it.

This and Storm Queen will be the two biggest dance hits of the last quarter.

Don't forget about Fatboy Slim. That will also be huge too! Probably bigger than Storm Queen and Martin Garrix.
