Because we are "Sats loons", our opinion obviously doesn't matter. I will never understand how these innoffensive girls could get so much hatred from people around here. Sometimes I wonder if it's just because they are both drop dead gorgeous and talented at the same time?

We're not "raging", I like both Little Mix and The Saturdays.

'Wings' was released prior to the 2012 live shows even airing and got to #1 on it's own accord.

If we're talking solely 2013, then sure. But it's hardly a fair comparison in a year where LM have only released two post-album singles (which both outsold 'Gentleman.' :kink:)

I don't understand the lack of hype comments. It's still got over a month until it's released and its airplay has yet to even kick off. Not to mention the response (well, outside of here anyway) towards it has generally been very positive and it managed to break the top 100 on pre-orders within the first day. I'm notoriously bad at predicting a song's performance, but I could see this doing better than 'DNA', but not quite match 'Wings' in sales or longevity.

Yes, but The Saturdays post-albums singles have sold : 340k (Ego), 330k (Higher), 287k (Just Can't Get Enough), 265k (Issues), 120k (Work). Have Little Mix ever encountered such success after their album was released and the X-Factor hype was down and radios just didn't support them as much now the lead single have been supported? In the UK, Wings was their only truly successful single. DNA peaked at #3 and sold 200k with an X-Factor performance. I guess you could say some sales were lost because it was leading the album, but then Up sold 345k while leading Chasing Lights. Also, The Saturdays are technically still better album-sellers than Little Mix as DNA haven't outsell Chasing Lights yet and I doubt it ever will (is it near 385k yet?). Without any kind of X-Factor hype or anything which says a lot.

However, all these comparisons kinda fall short as most of these songs were released in different settings. Not the same year, not the same hype, not the same radio and tv support, not the same promotion slots (The Saturdays never had good TV slots like Little Mix in 5 years...), not the same time of the year (Early summer VS End of the year, for example), etc.

As for the hype, I do agree with you. I don't think it lacks any hype and the response have been pretty positive. I would definitely say it's one of their best songs with DNA and Case Closed. I am so glad they ditched the annoying "my mama told me I was pretty, so pls stop saying im ugly" lyric theme and went for something more mature. As I said, it's very Spice Girls from them while still sounding current so I don't understand why the UK wouldn't love it.

Nevertheless, I think a very small percentage have shown their dislike to the subtitle by voting for the number 10 which would explain why it's big.

All jokes aside haha, I do think this will do as well as DNA but not more than that because they are releasing in the build up to Christmas which is a little stupid really. The only reason cannonball did well was because of xfactor, so I do believe they are trying their look a little, they should release in October. Sales are still not as high and not as competetive

Surely the sub-title was deliberately put there to enocurage this kind of petty point scoring?

Britain's current 2nd biggest girlgroup? LMAO, even with their mediocre sales, they still the biggest by far.

And I think it'll go 4 or 5.

They're really not, though.

And I voted #5. It's not a great song but they're bound to have X-Factor so there's no way it'll miss the top five.

Considering they outsell The Saturdays and actually have some semblance of career internationally, I would say they are. I dislike them both but Little Mix is clearly more commercially successful. The Sats have a longer history of being limited successful but, currently, Little Mix are bigger.

And lol, just realized this discussion has been done to death and there's no point in arguing with The Sat loons. Only they would think The Sats mediocre careers and achievements amount to anything or that they rival Little Mix, with their much stronger PR support. Neither of them are really huge among the mainstream but Little Mix definitely has a much bigger advantage currently, not to mention some international popularity.

The discussion is about the British biggest girlband, not internationally.

Little Mix won X-Factor and are backed by Simon Cowell and are linked to the biggest boy band in the world and yet their UK sales are very average. The Sats have had consistant success without any of these things for five years. I think that speaks for itself.

edit - and The Sats haven't even promoted anything internationally so there's no point comparing that success.

Yes The Saturdays are probbaly bigger, I'm sure we could all reach that conclusion WITHOUT such an awful page or so. Besides, a forum subtitle is hardly condemning them to forever flopping...

Agreed :drama:

(world imploding at me agreeing with you on something to do with pop?!)

There's no opinion to matter here though, that's why I was laughing at The Saturdays fans getting irate about a subtitle. 99% of the topic is dedicated to how Move will do, but The Saturdays fans seem to have turned it into a battle due to a SUBTITLE. The topic isn't even about Little Mix vs The Saturdays - it's ridiculous that some of the The Saturdays fans felt the need to assert their band as more popular in this particular topic, that's all. I love The Saturdays, I just think their responses in this topic have been, by and large, bemusing.

I love the fact that you consider Little Mix's sales "very average" and yet The Saturday's even poorer sales are "consistent success." That's some skewed logic if I ever saw it. Oh and let's be realistic, the Simon Cowell connection is probably more of a curse than a blessing.

I'm sorry but I'm finding this entire argument hysterical.

What I find even more amusing is the fact that Shadow used to be a Little Mix loon; in fact, I recall a few exchanges between ourselves over on their DS Appreciation thread. Seems he dropped them like a bag of sick as soon as they posed a legitimate threat to The Saturdays.

Yes The Saturdays are probbaly bigger

Nah.

Ok I've changed the subtitle to something neautral, can we stop this awful debate before I have to start doing some totally srs mod stuff and deleting posts please ~

I haven't voted in this yet incidentally so I'll get us back on topic by predicting NUMBER THREE. Based on having not heard it yet admittedly.

Gosh, what a laughable subtitle that was - ANYONE can see Neon Jungle have that title.

I think this may do better than some are thinking, it really depends on how much the radio gets behind it. I don't think the public will be expecting this from them, but it'll be a shame if it underperforms just because its a little bit different to what they've done before.

It definitely won't get to number 1 though, Storm Queen has that sewn up.

STOOSHE.

I love how all these Little Mix loons keep arguing.

Just enjoy the fact they have released a good song that has a chance at the top 3! :cheer:

No more posts about Sats vs. Little Mix please. This is a 'Move' prediction thread, not a 'who's bigger, LM or The Sats?' thread. If you're so insistent on continuing to discuss this please make a separate thread.
