Let's have a mini chart round up, we have lost from the top 40 singles chart, Rizzle Kicks, Fuse ODG, 2Door Cinema Club, 2 Chainz/Wiz Kahlifa, Birdy, Naughty Boy/Sam Smith and both tracks from Arctic Monkeys, the biggest drop of the week goes to Jason Mraz still hanging there just... at #37.

As for the album chart it looks pretty healthy with a good selection of new entries, the biggest drop of the week goes to Dizzee Rascal from #10 down to #37 ouch!!! mind you Katie Melua is not far behind down to #35, another big dropper is Sub Focus down to #27.

Miley Cyrus looks safe for the double now as do the Saturdays for top 5. I am pleased James Blunt will achieve a single digit peak this week too. Lucy Spraggen holding on nicely at number 6 is great and again she should achieve a single digit peak for her album which i would be extremely happy with.

It's nice to have plenty of new entries but at the same time people are buying old Mraz/Perri/Goo Goo Dolls songs instead of fresh new stuff. I don't really get that tbh.

Bieber's new single has done dreadfully, already down to #25 on iTunes! Looks like his career really is dying in the UK at least - 1D next please.

 I highly doubt it. Boyfriend at least had some airplay when it was released, was held back for about 3 weeks. This is totally OA/OS and he was never a massive single seller anyway. Has done better than his promo singles for Believe did, they'd be better to compare to I think.

Well let's wait and see how the next 9 (!) promotional singles and the album do, then we can decide if his UK career is dying or not... he does seem to have peaked with his last era though, I can't really see him getting a Number 1 any time soon.

Anyone knows why the big jump for Bruno Mars album

I believe he's touring the UK at the moment, my mum & sister went to his show on Tuesday.

Brand New Eyes not even closing the gap :( Number 1 not happening then, I'm hoping this can hold up well.

You probably meant "Brand New Machine".. ;) Because when i saw your comment, i thought that Kodaline's album re-peaked.. :D

And you probably meant "Brand New Day"... not that the Kodaline album is even called that

Perhaps he/she was hoping for a four year old Parramore album to suddenly leap back into the Top 5?

Brand New Eyes is of course the excellent album from Paramore. :P

I disagree, this song is a 'comeback' (in the K-pop sense more than anything but still) for him and it was announced AGES ago, so while it may not have any airplay to speak of it's definitely had quite a lot of build-up so you'd expect it to be doing a lot better than the promo singles (top 10 at the very least anyway), not just slightly better.

Anyway, I said dying, not dead :P It's a very poor start for this single but I don't think it's entirely impossible for him to turn it around. It's not exactly bad for him to have gone top 3 on iTunes straight away, just had quite appalling longevity so far.

Heartbreaker is not a very good song which might explain what's happening

Give him another Boyfriend or Beauty and a Beat and boom, he'd be top 5 easily.

(I know BAAB didn't go top ten, but it was 3rd single)

Its looks better if the new entries were spread out, not just allocated to the top 10, there isn't anything else new between 15-40 apart from Ylvis.

Totally agree... The UK Charts looked best in the 1995-2003 era when there was almost 20 new entries in the Top 75 each week and 13 in the top 40 also which made the charts more interesting an more fun... the past 5 years were just boring and predictable chart-wise with an average of 3 new entries per week...

Well of course! Just what else could I have been referring too?!

The Saturdays might actually peak at 6 then if James Blunt has Graham Norton!

It's a bit late now haha

Interesting to see Mileys lead hasn't increased on the albums, ahead by 4.5k on both updates!

I just hope by some miracle Chase & Status could beat her but its unlikely to happen I know that, I will be doing my bit tomorrow!

I thought Eminem would have sold more than that but should finish on 70k and I reckon Miley will finish with sales similar to WCS but good to see 6 new entries in the top 10 and Justin Bieber falling!

I also agree, all the new entries would be spread out in different patterns each week! Now we either have everything going top 10 or all at the bottom end of the chart and although end of year sales weren't great to a shorter chart run in that era (I think the average run for a number one was between 10-13 weeks)

But I do miss the faster turn around and the variation of music charting from random indie and dance tracks...now the only way new artists get a look in is if they strip off in videos or have big teams to manage an artist and promote them

To be fair to her (before Vidcapper says it!) her album has been around for a couple of weeks already. Looks like postponing Dizzee's album hasn't paid off at all however.

I'm thinking OneRepublic could possibly increase sales yet again this week... Going 2-4-3-1-3 with increased sales each time is slightly strange!
