Posted October 15, 201311 yr Lorde - Royals LFasFq4GJYM James Arthur - You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Loves You lHjUuojffds Which song do you prefer? Which song do you think will go to number 1? What do you think there first week sales will be?
October 15, 201311 yr I prefer 'You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Loves You' and would much rather see that go to #1. I think it has a good chance but it's not doing anywhere near as good on pre-orders. If it did go to #1 though Lorde would outlive him in terms of longevity, definitely, and would maybe take the following week at #1?
October 15, 201311 yr James Arthur's song is such a terrible sentiment, just await the next time some poor teenager kills him/herself in their own bedroom after being dumped and writes a suicide lyirc quoting the title.
October 15, 201311 yr If James was performing on X Factor this Sunday I would say it was definte he would be number 1 but he is not for some reason so I think it will be a lot closer with James maybe just getting there .
October 15, 201311 yr If James was performing on X Factor this Sunday I would say it was definte he would be number 1 but he is not for some reason so I think it will be a lot closer with James maybe just getting there . The lack of the X Factor performance is definitely going to cost him, I think (:(), but I'm hoping he can still manage it. Lorde at #1 would just be :drama:...
October 15, 201311 yr I'd be very surprised if this was even close - I've heard Lorde much more than James on the radio and he doesn't even have an X Factor performance to back him up.
October 15, 201311 yr Lorde at #1 would just be :drama:... I agree, everyone would faint at the presence of her royalty at #1.
October 15, 201311 yr I'd be very surprised if this was even close - I've heard Lorde much more than James on the radio and he doesn't even have an X Factor performance to back him up. I just noticed something on YouTube too when I was listening to 'You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Loves You'... Lorde is promoted at the side with both 'Royals' and her being the VEVO Lift artist (I think). Probably means nothing, but his main competitor being promoted is a bit of a kick in the foot for him.
October 15, 201311 yr I think the UK will let Lorde be their ruler (of the singles chart). She's definitely got the #1.
October 15, 201311 yr The JA song isn't terrible by any means, but Royals NEEDS to have this (the pre-orders seem to indicate it'll get there, but I wouldn't get too confident yet)
October 15, 201311 yr You tube videos added and a third option. Personally James Arthur's track just grates on me after awhile I prefer Lorde at #1 but for some reason at the back of my mind James Arthur will be at #1.
October 15, 201311 yr Neither. Lorde is overly pretentious and has too much ZOMG she's ONLY 16 and a REAL ARTIST feel. James Arthur can't actually sing, has a terrible sentiment for his song and has the words 'relevant' and 'urban' batted around too much. But then again neither song is as bad as some recent no.1s. Onerepublic to return there and prove you can just perform a good song well to get that spot.
October 15, 201311 yr Perhaps on the Monday in question, Bieber will release a stunning track that everybody will like and get that to number one? No, thought not.
October 15, 201311 yr You tube videos added and a third option. Alas, too late for my 'neither' vote to be included.
October 15, 201311 yr Queen Perry with 'Unconditionally', but I sadly think she will stall at #3 behind these two. I prefer Lorde more, but I really do think James will get it.
October 15, 201311 yr Oh shit, forgot about Katy... Hopefully 'Unconditionally' is sandwiched between the two and it's 1. James, 2. Katy, 3. Lorde :D
