So Gary, Sharon & Louis are all leaving X Factor after this season.

Who do you think should be the new judges for 2014?

IMO they should have a clean sweep and get rid of Nicole (I love myself) Scherzinger and childish boring Dermot O'Dreary as well

I think Caroline Flack should be promoted as presenter.

As for the judges.

They should bring back Tulisa and Cheryl or Melanie C

also Olly Murs & Robbie Williams

Hopefully Nicole Scherzinger stays but I won't be surprised if she doesn't.

And NO to Caroline Flack hosting, Dermot is doing a great job imo.

Would like to see Mel B back, she was really good as a guest judge.

It's pretty hard when thinking about it but yeah Mel C would be first choice too. Chris Martin & Tinie Tempah possibly would be my other potential choices.

Mel B is indeed a fab judge, but she is an AWFUL mentor, seriously. On Australian X-Factor it was ridiculous how much she bussed her acts.
Mel C (not Mel B) could be a great judge.
In that case maybe Mel B's not the best choice then :P Chris Martin doesn't sound too bad, he could replace Gary.

Tulisa and Cherly should NEVER BE ALLOWED ON TV EVER AGAIN. Piss weak as judges and highly irritating personalities too. I suspect Nicole will stay on, she's always struck me as fairly intelligent and really bitch knows she's not going to do much better than this, at least not in the short term.

If the US version is cancelled then I reckon Simon will be back. Losing Louis will be a big blow though, for all his stupidity and his being a caricature, he brings a much needed dynamic to the group, as evidenced when stupid Brian Friedman was a judge.

Chris Martin might actually be even WORSE than Gary Barlow. I mean Gary is one of the most boring, po faced, self absorbed and hypocritical people I've ever seen on one of these shows but everything I've ever seen of Chris Martin suggests he is very similar AND takes himself even MORE seriously (if such a thing were possible).

Yeah I suppose. It was a drop of the hat thing. Janet Jackson would make a great judge as would Gwen but I dunno, I'm probably just thinking of who's actually performed on the shows. Bono wouldn't be too bad but he will turn it down if asked me thinks.

Nicole, Kimberley Walsh :D, Will Young and I probably add Simon Cowell it was rumoured earlier in the year, Simon might be returning
I hope we see Nicole leave with the rest of the current panel and a return for Simon and Cheryl with the addition of Melanie C and Will Young.
A Simon return would give the show a massive ratings boost so yeah I think that's likely to happen
I would go as far as to say ITV will demand his return as part of renewing the shows contract.

Will Young would be a terrible choice.

They need to just get rid of the show altogether. It's done, there's nothing more they can do with it.

They won't let the show go. Massive ratings still, big talking point, as IF they'd let this go.

Will Young would be a dull choice, as would Robbie Williams. They need fresh faces on there I think. I'd love Cheryl and/or Dannii back but it's unlikely, and Simon returning is a MUST.

I don't know, surely they'd end it on a high and it can't get any better than this or for better reasons - most of the judges leaving, the 10th series...
Well it's not exactly a 'high' as it is and despite the DOOM AND GLOOM in the press regarding ratings it is still a fairly big show, so I don't have any doubt it WILL be back, perhaps for another 2/3 year deal? I can't see it going beyond THAT though.
No matter how many new twists or new judges they try and get, they're not going to escape this now-"doom and gloom". Strictly have won the battle. The X Factor needs to die.

But that's my point, there IS no battle beyond newspapers wanting to sell a few more copies and websites wanting a few more hits. If we MUST compare shows, a much fairer comparison is with The Voice. Yes it airs at a different time of year, but it's got much more in common with X Factor than Strictly. The drop from last year to this year is minimal, indeed it may actually have gone up slightly, therefore this much talked of 'DEATH' of the show is nothing more than a crock of shit.

As for quality of the acts, that is most definitely down year on year, and last year wasn't exactly a stellar lineup. However, for me, and this is the most important thing of all - it's still great entertainment. The bigger and more ludicrous the show gets the more I enjoy it and I don't imagine I'm alone in that. For all it's proclamations of being a 'singing show' it's always been so much more than that. It's just a BONUS if we get some actually good singers/bands from it.
