And the latest Justin Bieber pointless track of the week, and probably chuck in a few Katy Perry album tracks. The New Zealander's Virgin-issued single, which has been heading the Billboard chart for three weeks with 2.7 million US download sales to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan, has opened up a lead of around 7,000 sales on the Official Charts Company's midweek singles countdown in the UK. Royals' biggest competition comes from 2012 X Factor winner James Arthur whose second Syco release You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Loves You is new at 2 in the week so far as Interscope/Poldyor act OneRepublic's Counting Stars drops to 3, having returned to No 1 last Sunday. Virgin could be on course for a double No 1 celebration this coming weekend with Katy Perry's Prism matching Lorde's chart-topping status on midweek singles by leading artist albums. Boosted by an appearance by Perry on Graham Norton's BBC One chat show last Friday and a performance over the weekend on ITV's The X Factor, it has sold around 30,000 copies in the week so far as it aims to become her second UK No 1 album after Teenage Dream. Behind Perry at No 2 is Atlantic's James Blunt who is clearly benefitting from his Top 10 single Bonfire Heart with its parent album Moon Landing looking on course to beat the No 4 debut and peak of its predecessor Some Kind Of Trouble in 2010. His previous two albums - Back To Bedlam and All The Lost Souls - both reached No 1. Island's John Newman drops 1-3 with Tribute, while sales of Nettwerk act Passenger's All The Little Lights are up 78% on the week to lift it 9-4 after its hit Let Her Go was performed by contestant Luke Friend on The X Factor last Saturday. The track itself rises 24-16 on midweek singles with sales up 88%. Decca's Andrea Bocelli could be on course for his second Top 10 album of the year after Passione with Love In Portofino registering as a new entry at 6 at this stage of the week. Behind it at 7 is Global Talent/Polydor act Lawson's debut album Chapman Square, which rises from 171 followng the release of a expanded version with 18 tracks. These include their current single Juliet, which drops 3-11 in the midweeks. Capitol act Andrea Begley, this year's winner of BBC One's The Voice UK, is new at 10 with debut album The Message, while Domino's Arctic Monkeys are looking to return to the top five with AM, which rises 6-5 in the midweeks. London Grammar's Metal & Dust Recordings/Ministry of Sound album If You Wait could return to the Top 10, having risen 11-8 at this stage of the week, while Sony Classical's Jonathan & Charlotte drop 5-9 with Perhaps Love. Earth Wind & Fire are set for a chart return with Now Then & Forever, their first studio album in total since 2005 and first back with Sony since 1990's Heritage, new at 21 in the midweeks, while Robin Thicke's Interscope/Polydor set Blurred Lines races 69-22 with sales up 267% after he performed the title track on The X Factor. October 22, 201312 yr I was gonna say according to itunes James Blunt is outselling her lol!! There is no indication of popularity on the iTunes albums chart so you can't say that with any certainty. For all we know Katy's main version might be outselling both of James' versions put together.
