Get over yourself.

I'm fully expecting Eminem to get the #1 now with 1D at #2, which would still be a fantastic result for them, and it's one of Eminem's better songs too.

Have you got over yourself yet? It sounds like you need to chill out and respect that other people will have different views to your own without feeling the need to be rude about it!

Why do you see that? The song is very beautiful, and they don't deserve it less than any other act.

Slowdown is completely right, they don't deserve it.

You've said that many times already, I think we get the idea.

Where's Joseph been rude?

One Direction neck-and-neck with Eminem and Fatboy Slim in Number 1 race

Harry, Zayn, Niall, Liam and Louis’ track, which was in pole position on Wednesday’s Official Chart Update, maintains its lead on today’s sales flash. However, according to the Official Chart Company’s latest sales data, less than 3,000 copies currently separate the Top 3.

Eminem’s The Monster FT Rihanna surges seven places to Number 2 today. The track is the fourth single to be released from the US rapper’s upcoming eighth studio album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2. Should Eminem manage to overtake One Direction by Saturday night’s final whistle, it will be his first UK chart topper in almost seven years.

Eminem will definitely have the #1 on Sunday then :D It would be his first #1 since... 2006 :o

Another interesting fact: 'The Monster' will be the eighth #1 for both Em and RiRi.

Eminem definitely #1 then. YAY. Wasn't sure he'd have closed the gap but if he's already within 3k there's no way he's missing out.

Will be the 8th #1 single for both Eminem and Rihanna! Rihanna racking up 8 #1s in 7 years is really quite incredible.

EDIT: Thermo sneakily beating me to that sneaky fact.

Sneaky addition to that fact: as Eminem hasn't been #1 since 2006 that means he got up to 7 #1s before Rihanna even had one and they're now going to get their eighth #1s together.

Maybe Halloween effect last night :heehee: hence the title of the track.

The Monster could occur once every year now along with Thriller etc etc etc... ha

All 7 of Eminem's number ones have stayed there a single week. What's the chances of this one making a fortnight at the top?

I'm not sure, Storm Queen could prove to be big competition but the Eminem song is only going to get more popular with airplay etc. so I could see that staying at #1 for a 2nd week. Martin Garrix will definitely knock it off on week 3 though.

Thought The Monster would have been no1 by fridays update given its lead on itunes & if FBS is still close it shows his pre orders must have been decent!

Another factor his album is out next Monday could push the single for another week at #1.

The Monster could stay at no1 for 2 or 3 weeks imo its airplay will only increase now but we have to consider the buildup of Storm Queen & Martin garrix preorders over the past 6 weeks too!

Just a little bit of chart trivia Arcade Fire's album wil be 997th #1, if the album gets there, only 3 more albums to go for that elusive 1000th #1 album could be Robbie

Midweek Charts update: Eminem's Monster giving One Direction chart scare

Source: MW

by Paul Williams

Eminem's new track with Rihanna is making a late bid to top the UK singles chart this Sunday and deny One Direction a fourth No 1.

The boy band continue to lead the midweeks with the Syco-issued Story Of My Life, but up to the end of business on Thursday it was little more than a thousand sales ahead of Interscope/Polydor act Eminem's The Monster featuring Rihanna, according to the Official Charts Company.

The Monster was only released on Tuesday and sat as a new entry at No 9 on the following day's midweek chart, but has now shot up to No 2 to sit between One Direction's brand new single and Skint act Fatboy Slim's newly-issued Eat Sleep Rave Repeat featuring Riva Starr and Beardyman.

Eminem's first hit collaboration with Rihanna, Love The Way You Lie, reached No 2 in 2010 and went on to become the year's biggest-selling single, while she subsequently recorded another version of the song and the pair further collaborated on 2012's Numb.

Three more brand new tracks are also among the Top 10 sellers at this stage of the week, from Global Talent/Polydor's The Wanted, Parlophone's Tinie Tempah (featuring John Martin) and Sign Of The Times/Epic's Foxes respectively, while last Sunday's No 1 Royals by Virgin's Lorde is down to No 4.

Sonovox/Virgin's Arcade Fire are heading for their second UK artist albums No 1 with Reflektor's sales in the week to date more than double those of Virgin act Katy Perry's Prism, which drops 1-2, while Atlantic/Custard's James Blunt drops 2-3 with Moon Landing. There are two other brand new albums besides Reflektor in the top five with Union J's self-titled RCA debut at 4 and Lorde's first Virgin album Pure Heroine at 5. Matt Cardle's third album Porcelain, issued on his own Matt Cardle label, is new at 10 but only a handful of sales ahead of the No 11 seller.
