November 3, 201312 yr Looks like they're not announcing anything other than new entries (the website is also not being updated). Probably no recaps today then I'm afraid. EDIT: Ah the website is updating now. Lol at M.A.D hanging on. James Arthur made me laugh there saying he didn't want to hear this.
November 3, 201312 yr I listened to Down Boy a few weeks ago. It has such a good beat. I loved all her singles, although Kiss Kiss less then the rest because the original was such a huge hit here in the 90s that it was impossible not to compare them, and the original is better. Down Boy had a great video too  Actually I miss the pop beats from the early 00s, and those fab videos too

(UK) Sales: 200k+ Video here: pco91kroVgQ Biography Glamorously gaudy, a self-made post-modern diva stitched together from elements of Madonna, David Bowie, and Freddie Mercury, Lady Gaga was the first true millennial superstar. Mastering the constant connection of the internet era, Gaga generated countless mini sensations through her style, her videos, and her music, cultivating a devoted audience she dubbed "Little Monsters." But it wasn't just a cult that turned her 2008 manifesto The Fame into a self-fulfilling prophecy: Gaga crossed over into the mainstream, ushering out one pop epoch and kick-starting a new one, quickly making such turn-of-the-century stars as Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears seem old-fashioned, quite a trick for any artist to pull off, but especially impressive for an artist who specialized in repurposing the past — particularly the '80s — for present use, creating sustainable pop for a digital world. Perhaps unsurprisingly given her flair for grand gestures, Lady Gaga has deep roots in drama. Born Stefani Germanotta on March 28, 1986, the future Gaga played piano as a child and pursued musical theatre in high school, regularly auditioning for New York-based television shows, notably landing a background role for a 2001 episode of The Sopranos. At the age of 17 she enrolled at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in their Collaborative Arts Project 21. As she studied, she continued to eke her way into show biz, winding up with an appearance on MTV's short-lived post-Punk'd reality show Boiling Points in 2005. Not long afterward, she left school so she could concentrate on her music, fronting a band called SGBand, which released two EPs prior to splitting. Germanotta then teamed with producer Rob Fusari, a collaboration that produced not only her stage name Lady Gaga, but recordings that led to her signing with Def Jam in the fall of 2006. Her association with Def Jam was short-lived: the label dropped her early in 2007. Gaga rebounded by working with performance artist Lady Starlight, the two developing the Lady Gaga & the Starlight Revue, a tongue-in-cheek neo-burlesque act that gained positive press and proved to be her last stop before signing with Interscope later in 2007. While at Interscope she created a bond with Akon, who convinced Interscope head Jimmy Iovine to have her co-sign with his Kon Live imprint, and then Gaga began working with producer/songwriter RedOne, a union that led to the songs that would bring her fame: "Just Dance," "LoveGame," and "Poker Face." These songs formed the foundation of The Fame, the debut album that appeared in August 2008. Initially, Lady Gaga had greater success in Europe, thanks in large part to the "Just Dance" single, which earned club play in the U.S. and chart placement in other territories. Gaga's march toward the top of the American chart was slow but "Just Dance" reached the peak position in January 2009, followed swiftly by "Poker Face," the single that firmly pushed her into the mainstream, its popularity growing so large it often functioned as a punch line on TV in addition to winning a Grammy for Best Dance Recording. "LoveGame" and "Paparazzi" also appeared as singles before Gaga released The Fame Monster in time for the holiday season of 2009. The mini-LP, available separately and as a package with The Fame, contained the single "Bad Romance" whose popularity soon rivaled "Poker Face" and helped kickstart a stellar year for Gaga in 2010. That year, the hit singles "Bad Romance," "Alejandro," and the Beyoncé duet "Telephone," along with the successful Monster Ball Tour, put Lady Gaga front and center with the public as she worked on her sophomore album, announcing the May release of Born This Way on New Year's Day 2011. The steady march to its summer unveiling was preceded by the release of three singles —"Born This Way," "Judas," and "The Edge of Glory"— all leading up to the highly anticipated Born This Way. Arriving to mixed reviews, the album was a hit but didn't quite live up to its high expectations, yet it produced more genuine hits with "Marry the Night." A full remix of the album, naturally called Born This Way: The Remix, appeared at the end of the year, as did a holiday television special called A Very Gaga Thanksgiving and an accompanying EP, A Very Gaga Holiday. - iTunes Chart history (Year peak title): 2009 01 Just Dance (Lady GaGa Feat. Sales: 20k+ Video here: 0FBFVLunYA4 Biography Cher /ˈʃɛər/ (born Cherilyn Sarkisian; May 20, 1946) is an American singer and actress. Recognized for having brought the sense of female autonomy and self-actualization into the entertainment industry, she is known for her distinctive contralto singing voice and for having worked in various areas of entertainment, as well as continuously reinventing both her music and image, which has led to her being nicknamed the Goddess of Pop. Cher became prominent in 1965 as one-half of the folk rock husband–wife duo Sonny & Cher, who popularized a particular smooth sound that successfully competed with the dominant British Invasion and Motown sounds of the era. From 1965, she had established herself as a solo artist with successful singles such as "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)", "Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves", "Half-Breed", and "Dark Lady", songs that deal with subjects rarely addressed in American popular music. Goldmine magazine's Phill Marder described her as the leader of an effort in the 1960s to "advance feminine rebellion in the rock world [and] the prototype of the female rock star, setting the standard for appearance [and] attitude". After the duo's drug-free lifestyle had lost its popular appeal in the United States owing to the drug culture of the 1960s, she returned to stardom in the 1970s as a television personality with her shows The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour and Cher, both of which attained immense popularity. She became a fashion trendsetter with her daring outfits. After Cher and Sonny divorced in 1975, Cher experimented with various musical styles, including disco and new wave, before becoming a successful live act in Las Vegas. In the early 1980s, Cher made her Broadway debut and starred in the film Silkwood, which earned her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1983. In the following years, she starred in films such as Mask, The Witches of Eastwick, and Moonstruck, for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 1988. She made her directorial debut in the 1996 film If These Walls Could Talk. At the same time, she established herself as a rock singer by releasing platinum albums such as Heart of Stone (1989) and successful singles such as "I Found Someone" and "If I Could Turn Back Time". Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Cher continued to experiment with musical styles, including R&B and dance. She reached a new commercial peak in 1998 with the song "Believe", which features the pioneering use of Auto-Tune, also known as the "Cher effect". She has not toured since the 2002–2005 Living Proof: The Farewell Tour. In 2008, she signed a $60 million per-year deal to headline the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas for three years. The 2010s kicked off with Cher's return to the big screen in Burlesque. In 2013, she released her first studio album in over eleven years, Closer to the Truth. The album became her highest-charting solo album in the United States to date. Cher has won an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, an Emmy Award, three Golden Globe Awards, and the Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival, among several other honors. Her other ventures have included fashion designing, writing books and managing the film production company Isis. Recognized as one of the best-selling music artists of all time, she has sold more than 100 million solo albums and over 40 million records as Sonny & Cher worldwide. She is the only artist to date to have a number-one single on a Billboard chart in each of the past six decades. ~ Wikipedia Chart history (Year peak title): 1965 01 I Got You Babe (Sonny & Cher) -1- 1965 05 All I Really Want To Do -1- 1965 11 Baby Don't Go (Sonny & Cher) -1- 1965 17 But You're Mine (Sonny & Cher) -2- 1966 13 What Now My Love (Sonny & Cher) -3- 1966 03 Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) -1- 1966 42 Have I Stayed Too Long (Sonny & Cher) -4- 1966 43 I Feel Something In The Air -1- 1966 04 Little Man (Sonny & Cher) -1- 1966 32 Sunny -2- 1966 44 Living For You (Sonny & Cher) -2- 1967 29 The Beat Goes On (Sonny & Cher) -3- 1971 04 Gypsys, Tramps And Thieves -1- 1972 08 All I Ever Need Is You (Sonny & Cher) -1- 1974 36 Dark Lady -1- 1987 05 I Found Someone -1- 1988 47 We All Sleep Alone -2- 1989 06 If I Could Turn Back Time -1- 1990 11 Just Like Jesse James -2- 1990 43 Heart Of Stone -3- 1990 55 You Wouldn't Know Love -4- 1991 01 The Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss) -OST- 1991 10 Love And Understanding -1- 1991 37 Save Up All Your Tears -2- 1991 43 Love Hurts -3- 1992 31 Could've Been You -4- 1992 33 Oh No Not My Baby -1- 1993 37 Many Rivers To Cross -2- 1993 72 Whenever You're Near -3- 1993 66 I Got You Babe (1993) (Sonny & Cher) 1994 35 I Got You Babe (Cher With Beavis And Butt-Head) -OST- 1995 01 Love Can Build A Bridge (Cher, Chrissie Hynde & Neneh Cherry With Eric Clapton) -NAS- 1995 11 Walking In Memphis -1- 1996 07 One By One -2- 1996 31 Not Enough Love In The World -3- 1996 26 The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore -4- 1998 01 Believe -1- MILLION SELLER 1999 05 Strong Enough -2- 1999 12 All Or Nothing -3- 1999 21 Dov'e L'Amore -4- 2001 08 The Music's No Good Without You -1- 2013 25 I Hope You Find It -AT- Album Discussion Here =================== 34 (from 27) Iggy Azalea Feat. Influenced in her childhood by Missy Elliott, TLC, and Tupac Shaqur, she moved to the states in 2006 at age 16, stating that she was drawn to the birthplace of rap. Moving from Miami to Houston to Atlanta, she absorbed the Southern-style drawl of her surroundings and released a trap-inspired mixtape titled Ignorant Art in 2011, shortly after relocating to Los Angeles. A video for her song "Pu$$y" was uploaded to the internet and became a YouTube favorite due to its explicit nature. Around this time, Azalea's blossoming relationship with rising rapper A$AP Rocky earned her some headlines (she tattooed the title of his debut album on her knuckles), but her recording career stalled when plans to work with T.I. fell through due to label conflicts. In spring of 2012, she signed to Wilhelmina Models International and pursued modeling full-time, landing a job as the "New Face of Levi's Jeans." Later that year, her musical stock skyrocketed when XXL Magazine put her on the cover of their annual Top 10 Freshman issue, alongside Danny Brown, Roscoe Dash, and French Montana. As the first female, non-American rapper to make the list, serious hip-hop fans took notice, including Diplo, who hooked up with Azalea for her follow-up mixtape, TrapGold, before she signed to Mercury Records for her official 2013 debut The New Classic. - iTunes Chart history (Year peak title): Iggy Azalea 2012 44 Beat Down (Steve Aoki And Angger Dimas Feat. Originally a four-piece, Passenger formed in Brighton, England, as a collaboration between singer/songwriter Rosenberg and composer Andrew Phillips. Working out of Phillips' studio, the duo recorded the songs that would become Wicked Man's Rest, Passenger's debut album. The disc was released on ChalkMark in 2007 and spawned several singles, including "Wicked Man's Rest," "Walk You Home," "Do What You Like," and "Table for One." Passenger opened up for several high-profile indie acts throughout the U.K. that year, including Kate Nash and the Hold Steady. The following year found the band providing the soundtrack to the film Where Have I Been All Your Life?, and performing at the 2008 SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. In 2009, Phillips parted ways with Passenger leaving Rosenberg at the helm. The band's sophomore effort, 2009's Wide Eyes Blind Love, reflected this change with a stripped-down, acoustic sound. A year later, Rosenberg's Passenger returned with the "fan-only" release Divers and Submarines. Also in 2010, Passenger released the album Flight of the Crow, featuring collaborations with such artists as Josh Pyke, Katie Noonan, Elana Stone, and others. In 2012, Passenger released its fifth full-length effort, All the Little Lights, which featured a more fully fleshed-out sound. ~ Margaret Reges & Matt Collar, Rovi / iTunes Chart history (Year peak title): 2013 02 Let Her Go -1- Prediction Thread Here =================== 32 (from 31) Icona Pop - All Night [D] http://a1.mzstatic.com/us/r30/Music/v4/6c/20/a3/6c20a3a2-a1f6-d835-0bf7-da583bd12b06/075679950062.170x170-75.jpg Chart Run: 31-32 [2 wks] Release date: 20-10-2013 Format: download only single Label: Big Beat Records/Atlantic Sales: 10k+ Video here: 0FWRT9C9XMQ Biography Swedish electro-pop duo Icona Pop feature best friends Aino Jawo and Caroline Hjelt.
