I am surprised Little Mix's album is selling realitivly little. What did their debut sell in week 1?

53,314 on the chart dated 01/12/12 when it entered at number 3. The following week it dropped to number 11 on a sale of 36,444.

Another clean out of the album charts this week it seems

Hate to say it but I really don't understand ARTPOP and how someone can go from being so good to so bad.

I for one canceled my pre-order when I was instant grat'd songs like Venus and Dope. Didn't think it was going to be worth my dolla. Maybe others did, too.

I did exactly the same. One song half as good as 'Bad romance' 'Edge of glory' or 'Poker face' would have changed my mind but not going near the album now .

Number 1 is number 1, BTW was on the back of FM, the singles from BTW weren't that accepted. She'll probably have to claw back fans with some good single choices like Gypsy and G.U.Y. I think it has legs because the songs aren't as dark as those on BTW.

Animals should be on course for the fastest selling #2 single of the year then?

Would be CRAZY to see Lily allen at no1 with two tracks in two weeks. You never know.

Avril already out of the top 40 in the albums. :manson:

 

She has BBC Radio 2 supporting her for next week though, so fingers crossed it can stick around in the top 100 throughout the Christmas period and sell decently. :wub:

Is the Avril album worth getting. Loved the last one.

'Sexxx Dreams' - the best thing she has done since Bad Romance.

 

I think the album itself is a bit of a mess though. :(

Will listen to that now. It would have taken one song that I liked for me to download the album but just did not connect with any of the songs released.

I hope Lily's feminist banger is a massive number 1 for her, it's kind of a middle finger to certain misogynistic number 1 from 2013...

I'm almost 100% certain that Animals will still get to #1, with the initial iTunes lead and pre-orders he had, and the fact that Lily's still no more than 10-15% ahead of all of his combined versions on iTunes, having only overtaken him yesterday. I really will be stunned if he's not on top on Sunday.

Just listened to 'Sexxx dreams' and it's the best out of the ones I've heard. Just a shame that this has not hit as hard this album. Then again look at the crap 'Born this way' got when the single came out. No matter what, this album will not be a failure but I'm sort of looking forward to the next album and hoping it's magic again (Saying that, I'm downloading Sexxx dreams as we speak).

 

 

I know I was saying the opposite yesterday, but SWOWK has a bigger chance of going to #1 next week than Animals so I want the latter to at least have the achievement of the fastest selling song to not go to #1 of the year.

I'd just rather one of my favourite tracks of the year was not beaten to #1 by something completely dreadful. She's most likely going to get #1 anyway so I'll have to accept that, I just don't want it happening this week.

Celine at #2 in albums! :D Thought she would be higher than #12 in the singles though!
