BTW got 60 weeks in top 100 so not that fast exit

 

Of course Fame was a slow burner but keep in mind that it had two lives with the ep release.

Thanks for the nudge......off to buy the Gaga's album. Love that girl! I'm yet to be convinced an X Factor slot is all it's cracked up to be. Only for certain demographics I suspect.

Celine Dion performing very well, 22k already, i thought she would manage 25-30k for the week so she will manage more. Really pleased that The Killers, Keane and Little Mix will open on high debuts and decent sales. The charts are nice and lively this week consisting of many acts that i like and with many releases that i have and will purchase.

That's what I thought too. Seems she could actually reach the 55k that Taking Chances debuted with which I previously thought would never happen! :o Whilst Celine's sales are impressive, Lady Gaga's are less so. I was expecting 110k-120k for Sunday but it seems like it will be around the 90k mark. :( Hopefully the current Top 5 will remain the same come Sunday with all passing 20k with a few more 10k sellers than last week.

 

Nice to see Lily Allen already #2, should stay there for the rest of the week! :cheer: Hopefully it can make #1 in a subsequent week like 'The Power of Love' did last year. I've yet to listen to 'Animals' all the way through but from what I've heard of it, it's a good as 'Look Right Through' (decent enough but I'd rather it wasn't #1).

"Animals" is nowhere near as good as "Look Right Through" in my opinion. It sounds like it has been knocked up in about 5 minutes.

'Animals' is pure musical genius, 'Look Right Through' is just an average dance track.

Lily will release her own song 17th of November so that basically means her Keane cover won't be #1. Can't imagine people would download it more than the new song when they become aware of it.

I'm sure John Lewis and Waitrose will be selling the Lily Allen CD single soon - They did it last year with 'The Power Of Love' for £2 and if I remember correctly that gave Gabrielle the edge she needed to get to #1

James is still Top 10 but Cher and Avril are outside the Top 40. I was hoping Cher could stick around after holding up well for the first 3 weeks. :(

I wasn't expecting Gaga to pass 100k, 38k is alright. I'll say... 82k come the end of the week? I'd consider that good for her right now.

OUCH for Avril. I thought it'd be just outside the top 40 by the end of the week, but if it's not there now it'll be well clear.

Well to be fair, had she performed an actual song and not Venus she might have gotten more of a boost.

 

If she releases Gyps, G.U., Sex Dreams and Jewels, she will have a chance though at getting a decent 500k+ album.

I am impressed with Celine Dion's performance so far in both charts. I really thought she might struggle among so many new releases in the album chart but she is off to a strong start, if the trend continues for the week she will have good sales, id love the single to go top 10 but id say its very touch and go, still a top 20 single for Celine after such a long break and considering the demographics she is doing well, from what i can remember none of the singles of her last album when higher than low top 40 and that also had an x factor performance like this time except X Factor had a few more million viewers back then.

For acts such as Celine Dion single success is getting harder and harder to achieve, in that respect she is doing extremely well considering she has had some slow burning low sales for a few weeks in addition to what she will achieve this week.

Lily Allen is now number 1 on itunes. Cant believe its doing so well when the original is a lot better!
