The Vamps are a British pop band formed in 2012. The band consists of Bradley William Simpson from Birmingham (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), James Daniel McVey from Bournemouth (vocals and guitar), Connor Samuel John Ball from Aberdeen (vocals and bass guitar), and Tristan Oliver Vance Evans from Exeter, (vocals and drums). They signed to Mercury Records in late 2012. The band started to grow a fan base by supporting pop punk band McFly in early 2013 on their Memory Lane Tour. They have also been performing at several festival style events around the UK as supporting acts for several different acts including The Wanted, JLS and Little Mix, Lawson . The Vamps released their debut EP on 29 September 2013. They will also be releasing a full album in 2014. They gained further recognition in September 2013, as they supported Selena Gomez on her Stars Dance Tour at London's Hammersmith Apollo on 7 and 8 September 2013. - Wikipedia

Is Bieber releasing all these "promo singles" because his label are refusing to let him do a whole album? Seems like he's well and truly screwed up his career this year anyway.

Edited by Danny

Aww at this being on its way out. Still, had much better longevity than I think anyone was expecting! :)

I think he wanted to do the free weekly releases like Kanye, Drake, Timbaland, etc. do, but his label won't let him release them for free.

14-20-28-28-31-34.. seems the promo singles are attracting less buyers each week, either that or the market is strengthening (and I sincerely doubt that).

Hopefully his last four 'treats' will miss the Top 40 altogether.

First week sales:

24,304

16,056

13,357

12,312

10,421

'All Bad' will still have sold around 10k this week and I think the last 4 all will as well. Perhaps he just has ~9,500 core fans in the UK who will always download anything he releases.

'Wake Me Up' still sounds amazing!

I hope it still makes to 20 weeks on chart before leaving the top 40.

All of these Justin Bieber songs sound like zero effort has been put into them.

I disagree. The ones I've heard at least sound great imo.

The one song in the chart that sounds atrocious, lazy, and completely lacking in anything remotely interesting is Dizzee Rascal's song. It's so generic, it makes me sad to listen to. :(

I want to love 'Youth' but my work have it on loop tape and I hear it every half an hour and now it is starting to drive me up the wall. The lyrics are amazing however.

I think this is the first time I've listened to the chart show since Jameela took over, and I have to say she's a pretty good host, we've had snippets of trivia about some of the acts and a proper 40-31 recap countdown, and no random chatter and texts being read out yet...

Biography

James Arthur was the victor of the British X Factor's ninth series in 2012, winning the public vote with a rendition of Shontelle's rousing ballad "Impossible." Born in Middlesbrough, England, Arthur had written and performed in various bands since the age of 15, as well as performing solo in pubs and bars in his hometown. Many early recordings of the singer/songwriter illustrate the pop/rock and hip-hop influences that helped to shape his unique voice and style. Before he entered The X Factor, Arthur made it into the final 200 contestants of the U.K.'s The Voice TV series in 2011, without managing to progress any further. A year later he auditioned for The X Factor, where he sang judge Tulisa Contostavlos' song "Young" and subsequently made it through the bootcamp round and into the live shows. From here on in, Arthur showcased his considerable talents and slowly improved under the watchful eye of mentor Nicole Sherzinger. He was pitted against Jahméne Douglas and Christopher Maloney in the final round of the contest, where he impressed the audience with performances of Cy Grant's "Feeling Good," Bob Dylan's "Make You Feel My Love," and Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On." The final song of the evening — the version of Shontelle's "Impossible" — was released immediately after Arthur was announced as the winner and made it to number one in the U.K. and Ireland, while also charting across Europe. He then went on tour with the X Factor show, playing across the U.K. in huge, sold-out arenas such as Wembley and the Birmingham LG. After his X Factor success, Arthur worked alongside singer/songwriter Labrinth and Graham Stack (JLS, Take That, Westlife) in preparation for his debut album. - iTunes

I loved this song so much but now I've overplayed it too much. Still, I think it deserves a much better chart run than it has so far. :(
Hahahaha at that drop for James. I actually thought this would be a huge hit when it was first revealed - so glad I was wrong!
